FANS of Strictly Come Dancing have called out one dancing duo who they believe are getting preferential treatment.
Eagle-eyed viewers have noted that a certain pair are yet to dance their Couple’s Choice – and may conveniently pass on it.
The stars and their pros posed for a selfie on Saturday night[/caption] Head Judge Shirley is a fan of soap star Jamie[/caption]Commenting on Digital Spy‘s forum, Strictly fans pointed out that EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick technically doesn’t have to perform the niche number.
One user remarked: “Apparently Jamie has said he doesn’t really care about Couple’s Choice so he might have been given permission to skip it?”
They continued: “It would be unusual, but apparently in 2020 there was a semi-finalist who skipped CC (although there were less dances for each celeb that year anyway and apparently they didn’t expect her to get that far).”
Another added: “Given it’s called Couple’s Choice, I hope the couples also have the choice to skip it should they not want it.
“Although it would mean we would inevitably get a thread about how production is screwing over Jamie by not giving him CC.”
A third concerned fan penned: “Yes, I wondered that as well and it’s a great song. If Jamie does skip Couple’s Choice I think he is going to have to do the cha cha in either the quarter or semi final which worries me.
“It’s rarely a high scoring or crowd-pleasing dance especially at the latter end of the competition.”
It comes after the soap actor, 30, and partner Michelle Tsiakkas, 29, made a statement on Blackpool‘s Tower Ballroom dancefloor with their Jive.
Jay Brown actor Jamie arrived on stage riding on a huge bottle of tomato sauce for their lively routine to The Ketchup Song (Aserejé) by Las Ketchup.
The duo sat neatly in the middle of the leaderboard with a score of 33 points.
Over the weekend there was an awkward moment where Jamie’s mum, Sharon, was caught rolling her eyes at a judge Motsi’s comments.
“Jamie, I’ve never seen anybody wanting to dance so much as you coming down on that thing,” Motsi said.
She added: “You were like, ‘Get me off!’ And then I could feel that energy that you held back, you put it into your dancing.
“You push all the way, you gave it absolutely everything. Your standing leg – just a little bit, just a tiny bit – it didn’t give you that kind of vibration that you need so that you can absorb the music.
“So you have a sort of absorption on your ankle that we didn’t have,” Motsi went on.
She then concluded: “But besides that, I thought that was really just a fantastic way to end the show tonight.”
While Motsi was giving her feedback, Jamie’s mum Sharon could be seen in the audience looking less than impressed by the critique.
Reacting on X, formerly known as Twitter, fans commented: “Omg who was that iconic woman eye rolling then?” asked one, while a second said: “Jamie’s mum is not amused.”
“Did anyone else catch Jamie’s mom rolling her eyes at Motsi’s comments?? Made me lol,” penned another viewer.
