I’m a kooky cat lady and Stray’s kitty exploration is pure delight

IN the last two years, I’ve had 15 cats pass through my house, as I take care of them before they move onto their forever home.

I’m constantly surrounded by them, which means I’ve learned a lot about their actions and behaviours.

Stray mimics this perfectly, with everything from making biscuits to rubbing up against someone’s legs animated perfectly.

The natural way the cat moves contrasts nicely with the dystopian cyberpunk world, where humans are extinct and robots are the only sentient life left.

Stray is all about using your agility and nimble nature to explore the world, and help out the remaining citizens.

It’s a short and sweet story, about bringing sunlight back to the city, and improving the quality of life for those below.

Stray was first released as a PlayStation exclusive back in 2022, but it will launch on November 19 for Nintendo Switch.

As a short game it’s perfect for the portable console, but playing this way comes with its downsides.

The resolution is very poor, and doesn’t do justice to Stray’s gorgeous neon-lit city.

You will also see certain objects floating in the world, but this doesn’t affect key items and won’t break the game.

The tiny size of the screen can be frustrating, as it’s difficult to read notes that you pick up for clues.

It can also be difficult to see prompts for certain items, which can make pathfinding more difficult than it is on other versions.

We were also affected by stuttering during our playthrough, but this was only on hidden loading screens.

This means you’ll probably be able to avoid it in chase sequences or other sections with tight timings.

The Nintendo Switch version of Stray is certainly playable, and will be the version of choice if you value being able to play in handheld mode.

However, if you care about graphics and performance, you’ll want to opt for the PlayStation, Xbox or PC versions.
