A HUGE fire has broken out this morning, sending massive plumes of black some into the air – as residents are told to stay away.
The blaze, in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, began at around 1am, with firefighters deployed to the scene.

A spokesperson from the fire service said: “We’re currently dealing with a large fire at a waste recycling site on Wallace Way, Hitchin.
“We have had to close the junction of Cadwell Lane, Wilbury Way and Woolgrove Road to set up a high-volume pump.
“Please avoid the area while we deal with this incident.”
