HOGWARTS Legacy was one of the biggest releases of last year and managed to succeed far beyond anyone’s expectations.
It seemed obvious that Warner Bros. would want to develop a sequel and create a second money-maker.

Chief financial officer at Warner Bros., Gunnar Wiedenfels, suggested the game wasn’t yet in development, but that it would be in the future.
He said: “Obviously, a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road.
“So there is certainly a significant growth contribution from that business in our strategic outlook here.”
In an interview with Variety, Warner Bros. President David Haddad explains that the project is at least in pre-development and planning.
However, it appears that the next Hogwarts Legacy game isn’t going to follow the same pattern as the first.
He said“We have known for some time that fans are looking for more things in this world, and so we’re spending a lot of time thinking about that.
“Our insights tell us that there are not huge distinctions between a younger version of a fan and an older version of a fan.
“They’re just deep ‘Harry Potter’ fans, and we try to build authentic experiences to delight them.
“The rest of the company was very curious about what we helped to unlock with ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ last year.”
Haddad suggested that Warner Bros. will launch the Hogwarts Legacy sequel around the same time as the Harry Potter reboot TV show.
The show is expected to air in 2026, so we’ll still have to wait a few years to play the next game.
People loved being able to immerse themselves into the world of Harry Potter, and while Hogwarts Legacy scratched that itch, people always want more.
We have no doubt that another game in the series will be just as popular, particularly if it gives players even more choice.
However, we are hesitant about any game based on a TV series, particularly one we haven’t seen yet.
If the Harry Potter reboot delivers fans what they want, then Hogwarts Legacy 2 will also likely be a success.
