IT’S that time of year again when the clocks have gone back and the dark nights are set to be lit up for one evening by fireworks.
With just a few days to go until Guy Fawkes night, it’s not too late to start planning your display.
There are plenty of options available whether you are budget-conscious, or looking to splash the cash on a more extravagant display.
We’ve taken a closer look at what’s on offer this year to find you the best value for cash on your sparklers, rockets and finale boxes.
So far, Aldi, Costco and Lidl have the best deals around.
Despite being one the biggest supermarket brands in the UK, Sainsburys hasn’t sold fireworks in its stores since 2019, and Tesco does not have a range available online.
It’s important to remember that fireworks can be dangerous – it’s not all about the cheapest price.
You’ll need to be 18 or older to buy fireworks and most retailers will only sell them to you in stores. Remember to bring your ID with you.
Aldi launched its firework range on Thursday October 17.
And while the discounter offers home delivery on most Specialbuys, you’ll need to visit a store if you want to buy them.

Bulk-buying can make each item cheaper but remember it’s only worth it if you’re going to use them all, otherwise you’re just wasting money.
You also have to be a member before you can shop there. It costs £15 a year for an online membership and £33.60 to shop in store.
But its fireworks are in store now.
Sparklers, £64.99: A box of 72 packs of sparklers will set you back almost £65. Each pack contains five 40cm sticks, which means you’ll be getting 360 sparklers in total.

Every year, Bonfire Night falls on November 5, which is a Tuesday this year.
The famous rhyme: “Remember, remember the fifth of November,” relates to the celebration as it marks the anniversary of the foiling of the Gunpowder Plot on November 5, 1605.
Bonfire night is a night of celebration but it’s also important to stay safe. Here’s our guide to the first aid every parents need to know from burns to smoke inhalation.
Parents should also be aware that kids Halloween costumes that catch fire in TWO seconds are still on sale at supermarkets and high street stores.
