WYNNE Evans wrapped his hand around his Strictly dance partner Katya Jones AGAIN – despite Saturday night’s controversy.
The pair looked close in backstage snaps after they spoke out about the ‘handsy’ drama on last night’s It Takes Two.
They put on a united front[/caption]Wynne put on a brave face for the spin-off show after admitting he was “heartbroken” over a “joke gone wrong”.
The Go Compare star was accused of ‘groping’ Katya on live TV sparking a massive backlash.
Reuniting publicly for the first time since, Russian dancer Katya, 35, furiously defended the opera singer, 52, on It Takes Two.
Hitting back, she said: “Quite frankly, I actually can’t bear sitting here watching this man being portrayed as someone he’s not and in fact it couldn’t be further away from the truth.
“I have to make this absolutely clear that this whole incident with the hand and the high five on Saturday night, it was an inside joke between Wynne and I. Was it a silly joke? Yes. Was it a bad joke? Yes.”
Wynne added: “Yeah, I watched it back and I can see how people may have misinterpreted it.”
The Sun revealed the dance duo have been rapped over the knuckles by BBC bosses for the incident.
It follows a “summer of scandal” for the BBC show.
Pros Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima leave the show amid allegations of bad behaviour.
Behind the scenes, Beeb bosses are said to be furious about the incident and believe veteran Katya “should have known better”.
Wynne said: “I’m absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day.
“Katya and I are really, really close and really good friends.
“It was a stupid joke that went wrong, OK?
“We thought it was funny. It wasn’t funny.
