It will be a first for the hit show and see the celebs and their partners embody a famous star or music icon in order to perform a Ballroom or Latin tribute to them.
The remaining stars will embody the personality of a famous popstar in order to win over the hearts and the scores of the show’s judging panel.
Icons Week won’t just be a one-off either with the Beeb revealing it will be a staple of the dancing competition moving forward.
Airing on Saturday 2 November, it will feature music icons from across the decades with more details to be released in due course.
One pro star will also be taking centre stage during the extra special week.
South African dancer Johannes Radebe will be channelling his inner Beyonce as part of an epic pro routine to open up the Sunday results show.
Performing to a medley of the singer’s biggest hits, Johannes will embrace his inner Sasha Fierce to lead the iconic routine.
The newly announced Icons Week becomes the fifth annual special-themed week on the show.
It joins the already existing Musicals and Movies week as well as the annual Halloween and Blackpool specials.
So far on this year’s edition of Strictly, two famous faces have already been sent packing.
In a shock first result, Olympian Tom Dean was given the boot alongside his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova.
The result sent shockwaves among the Strictly fanbase and became one of the most surprising first week results to date.
This past weekend, 80s star Toyah Wilcox found herself as the second star to be axed from the show.
She and Neil Jones were eliminated after failing to impress following a lacklustre dance-off with Paul Merson and Karen Hauer.
