AMAZON’s October Prime sale is in full swing, and I’ve spotted a spectacular deal on an Android smartphone.
To kick off day one of the exclusive 48-hour sale, Amazon has slashed the cost of the Samsung Galaxy A55 from £439 to just £289.

Tech fans are in for a treat as Amazon’s second Prime Day event of the year has officially arrived.
The sale, which is exclusively available for Prime members, kicked off at midnight on October 8.
If you’re not already a paid subscriber, fear not, you can sign up for Amazon’s free 30-day trial and cash in on the sale.
Deals will run until midnight on October 9, so there’s plenty of time to save.
Over the next two days, Prime members can secure savings on everything from Fire streaming sticks and Kindles to security systems.
While scrolling through day one of the deals, I found a fantastic offer on the Samsung Galaxy A55.
Prime members can secure a £150 saving when they purchase the Samsung handset, which has now been marked down to just £289.
Released in 2024, the Galaxy A55 is a mid-range device that runs on Android 14 and boasts several of Samsung’s latest features.
It features a 6.6-inch super AMOLED display which is perfect for gamers and streamers, and comes packed with plenty of Samsung and Google Apps.
When you’re not binge-watching a new Netflix series or playing your favourite game, you can take the perfect pictures and videos with one of the smartphone’s various cameras.
The Galaxy A55 boasts a selfie camera, ultra-wide lens, wide-angle camera, and a macro camera to satisfy all your photography needs.
The large pixel camera lets in more light, resulting in brighter, sharper colours and clearer night photos.
For the security conscious, you’ll be pleased to learn that the A55 is also equipped with Samsung Knox.
The multi-layer security platform keeps your pins, passwords, and more safe, so you can save them stress-free.
The A55 comes with a metal frame and glass back, which our Senior Tech & Science Reporter, Jamie Harris, describes as having a ‘premium vibe’ in his Samsung Galaxy A55 review.
He remarks that the Galaxy A55 is ‘bold and flashy’ and its stunning display makes it an attractive option.
‘The same can be said of the gorgeous display. The camera is the key pull for me, making beautiful photography easy.’ He continued.
