WE all love a cheeky hack to save a few quid, and this one is sure to fill your stomach as well – so what’s not to love?
While there are plenty of tips and tricks for getting the most out of the classic JD Wetherspoon menu, this one is perfect if you want a little more bite your nachos.
The food ordering trick is perfect if you want something a little more filling than just nachos[/caption] Macey shared the clever trick with her followers on social media recently[/caption] Prices vary depending on the location of the Wetherspoon pub you visit[/caption]As shared by Macey Newberry, who works at the famed bargain boozer, on social media, this ordering trick could save you a few quid.
In the viral video, Macey said that although the Wetherspoons menu has just about everything you could ever want to eat, it is lacking as far as it’s Mexican food options go.
But fear not, you can spice up your nachos to make them a bit more interesting, and it costs next to nothing.
“This is a life hack if you wanna get loaded nachos,” the worker explained.
When ordering your grub you’ll need to go to the bar to customise them.
“If you’re in the predicament of choosing between a five bean chili meal or a bowl of nachos, you can get both,” she said.
Simply ask the staff member taking your order add on a five bean chilli.
However, you should clarify you don’t want the five bean chilli as a meal, but rather from the deli plates section of the menu, where there are the jacket potato add on options.
“If you would have got both meals it would have been 15 quid, but I’ve just saved eight quid, you’re welcome,” Macey said.
Fellow foodies loved the simple trick and couldn’t wait to try it out.
One commented on the clip: “I’ll defintley order this next time.”
But someone else pointed out some Wetherspoons pubs have another Mexican option on the menu: “There’s a burrito salad bowl and you can and chilli or chicken as an extra too.”
The nacho hack isn’t the only way to save a few bob on your next trip to Wetherspoons either.
Punters mouths were left watering last month when one foodie shared a trick to get a half-price breakfast at any Spoons.
A YouTuber who goes by CharlieVlogs explained how to get a cheap fry-up.
The YouTuber took viewers to the Wetherspoons located at Victoria Station because of it’s higher price point.
“Usually in Central London they put their prices up for breakfast.
“It’s about £6 to £8 but let me show you how to get a Wetherspoons breakfast for about £3.50,” he said.
“It’s easy mate, it’s so easy. So what you can actually do is get these breakfast extras on their own like you don’t have to get them on the side,” he said.
He then proceeded to order two rashers of bacon, a portion of backed beans and one fried egg for a total of £3.43.
A full English breakfast meal at the station would normally cost £8.38 for two fried eggs, bacon, two Lincolnshire sausages, baked beans,
three hash browns, mushroom, two slices of toast.
While the hack will save you close to £5, it also means there’s less food on your plate, something CharlieVlogs acknowledged in his video.
He said: “It’s not the biggest portion to be honest but it’s cheap and cheerful.
“Another reason why I brought you to Victoria Station is to show you that you can get cheap deals even in the most touristy and expensive central hub locations.”
FREE refills - Buy a £1.50 tea, coffee or hot chocolate and you can get free refills. The deal is available all day, every day.

So if you’re planning a pint at a Spoons, it’s worth popping in nearby pubs to see if you’re settling in at the cheapest.

For instance, every Thursday night is curry club, where diners can get a main meal and a drink for a set price cheaper than usual.
Pick-up vouchers – Students can often pick up voucher books in their local near universities, which offer discounts on food and drink, so keep your eyes peeled.
Get appy – The Wetherspoons app allows you to order and pay for your drink and food from your table – but you don’t need to be in the pub to use it.
Taking full advantage of this, cheeky customers have used social media to ask their friends and family to order them drinks. The app is free to download on the App Store or Google Play.
Check the date – Every year, Spoons holds its Tax Equality Day to highlight the benefits of a permanently reduced tax bill for the pub industry.
It usually takes place in September, and last year it fell on Thursday, September 14.
As well as its 12-day Real Ale Festival every Autumn, Wetherspoons also holds a Spring Festival.
