CHRISTMAS may be a good couple of months away, but people are already snapping up gifts for loved ones.
It might feel a bit premature to be thinking about the yuletide season, but it’s definitely the perfect time to nab cheap deals ahead of time.
Lidl is flogging Yankee Candle jars for just £2[/caption] There’s lots of scents up for grabs[/caption]Indeed, a bargain supermarket is currently flogging the perfect £2 stocking filler in stores.
You’d be hard pushed to find someone who wouldn’t love a Yankee Candle as a gift.
But the designer homewares brand’s luxury candles can be a little pricey, with large jars costing £27.99.
So it’s no surprise that people are rushing to buy them in Lidl after spotting an incredible offer.
Alerting people to the deal, savvy shopper Joanne said: “Good size autumn Yankee candles £2.99 or two for £4 Lidl, bargain.”
So if you’re bagging more than one candle, it works out at just £2 each.
The 425g jars are available in a range of scents including caramel whirl, cinnamon spice, perfect pumpkin, apple orchard and cherry berry.
Joanne’s post on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a private Facebook group with 2.5 million members, has sparked a frenzy with 2,000 likes and 2,400 comments.
And people are hailing them as the perfect Christmas presents.
“Alright for stocking filler”, gushed one.
A second echoed: “Good for Xmas gifts.”
A third wrote: “Need to get there asap lol.”
A fourth added: “These look amazing definitely need to get some.”
“If you happen to see any, get me 100”, a fifth begged a pal.
Meanwhile, a sixth said: “Omg need them all.”
You’ll need to be quick to get your hands on the cheap candles, however, as Lidl employees say they’re flying off the shelves.
One supermarket worker said: “We did [have them] last week but they sold out in seconds.”
A second revealed: “We had some but they all went In 5 mins.”
If you are fussy about yout Yankee Candle scent, be sure to pay attention to the label before you buy.
Some Yankee Candles have ‘Home Inspiration’ stamped below the company’s logo, like the ones currently on offer in Lidl.
And a former employee has claimed it means the quality of the scent is not as good.
Posting on TikTok, she said: “Home Inspiration are not the original Yankee Candles.
“I work for Yankee Candles and get asked this question regularly. It’s a cheaper version.”
And candle fans seem to agree, with many moaning about the quality.
One said: “They don’t smell nowhere near as strong as original Yankees.”
“Don’t be fooled by Home Inspirations.”
A second wrote: “Got these and it’s got zero scent. Cheaper but cheaper for a reason.”
Meanwhile a third asked: “Does anyone think Yankee aren’t as good as they used to be?”
