CHANNEL 5 is unleashing their latest gripping murder mystery, The Wives.
A trio of soap legends lead the cast in this new twisty drama.
Channel 5 murder mystery drama The Wives follows three sisters-in-law on their annual holiday in Malta.
The series kicks off with the women reuniting a year after the mysterious disappearance of their sister-in-law, Annabelle.
However, the reunion raises suspicions about her husband Charlie, after he arrives with his new girlfriend Jade, who bears an uncanny resemblance to his missing wife.
The three wives then decide to search for answers, uncovering family secrets along the way.
Tamzin Outhwaite plays the role of Sylvie in new Channel 5 drama The Wives.
Best known for starring in EastEnders, the actress has become a well known face on TV since the early noughties.
Her other TV appearances include New Tricks, Death in Paradise, The Fixer and Doctor Who.
In The Wives, viewers will see Tamzin‘s character getting very steamy, on more than one occasion.
While speaking to The Sun’s TV Mag, the TV star discussed working with an intimacy coordinator to shoot sex scenes.
She shared: “Well, it’s been a long time since I’ve had to do anything like that.
“People don’t ask women in their 40s and 50s to do that very often.
“And to be honest, it was quite liberating, because obviously the whole point is that she’s meant to be free.
“I mean, the fact that she’s dating much younger men and having sex with much younger men, and being confident with it was
a really lovely thing to play.
“I’m not prudish, so I was kind of okay with it. Obviously, we had
intimacy coordinators, which I also never experienced.”
Fellow former soap star Jo Joyner plays Beth in The Wives
Like Tamzin, she launched to fame in EastEnders and was known for playing long-suffering Tanya Branning.
However, since leaving the square she has moved over to drama and has become the darling of C5’s murder mysteries.
The actress has also starred in the channel’s For Her Sins and Riptide.
Jo is also well known for playing Luella Shakespeare in Shakespeare and Hathaway: Private Investigators.
Completing the trio of soap legends in the cast is Angela Griffin.
In The Wives she plays the role of Natasha Moran.
Angela shot to fame playing Fiona Middleton in Coronation Street.
Since then she had remained in the spotlight, thanks to roles on both the big and small screen.
Angela is also known for playing Kim Campbell in Waterloo Road.
Actor Jamie Bamber plays the role of Charlie Morgan who is the husband of Annabelle who has gone missing.
He kicked off his TV career in 1998, starring alongside Ioan Gruffudd, Robert Lindsay and Paul McGann in Hornblower.
After this, the roles poured in and he is now known for starring in Law and Order: UK.
Jamie also played Archie, Martha’s ex on Beyond Paradise.
