OASIS fans think the reunited band could pull off the unlikeliest of collaborations at one of the biggest sporting events on Earth.
The Manchester mob recently reunited after a 15 year feud, sending fans into a frenzy as they tried to get tickets to their 2025 stadium shows.
Could Oasis make a surprise cameo at the Super Bowl next year?[/caption] Kendrick Lamar has been announced as the halftime entertainment – and he is an Oasis fan[/caption] Could this be Kendrick’s Super Bowl set list?[/caption]Meanwhile US rapper Kendrick Lamar was announced as the half-time entertainment at next year’s American football showpiece.
Now a meeting of the two contrasting artists has been touted by some after a ‘leaked’ eight-song set list for the Super Bowl show circulated online.
While the legitimacy of the tracklist has raised eyebrows, it has set tongues wagging with many wondering “what if…”
The leaked encore begins with Rock ‘N’ Roll Star, with brit indie band Kero Kero Bonito & Oasis written beside it in brackets, suggesting their involvement.
The beloved anthem from debut album Definitely Maybe, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, would be a fitting inclusion.
Ordinarily, the flashy pomp of the the sporting event couldn’t seem further removed from the low-key, stern-faced Britpoppers.
But a cameo would guarantee more than 50million sets of eyes on them and whip the world into a frenzy ahead of the UK stadium shows.
It would also boost interest in a US leg of their comeback tour, which has yet to be confirmed.
An insider recently told the Sunday Mirror how the brothers had ‘verbally agreed’ to touring America, Mexico and Argentina.
And Liam fuelled rumours by revealing he ‘loves’ America when asked if they would play over there.
He tweeted: “I love America and I know deep down you love ME.”
Kendrick has gone on record as an Oasis fan, having performed in the band’s T-shirts and been pictured wearing them in the recording studio.
The respect appears to be mutual as Liam gave Kendrick a shoutout on stage last year too when they performed at the same Japanese festival.
Though Noel has always been prickly towards rap music, most notably when he criticised Glastonbury for booking Jay-Z as a headliner back in 2008.
Other tracks on the setlist include Kendrick hits Alright and Humble, while it ends with Drake diss track Not Like Us, which would be sure to generate countless headlines and memes on social media.
The Sun has contacted representatives for Oasis and Kendrick for comment.
