WETHERSPOONS is slashing the price of its menu items tomorrow, but you’ll need to be quick.
A whopping 7.5% discount will be dished out to customers who visit the popular pub chain tomorrow.
Customers are guaranteed a cheaper meal as someone who may spend £10 on food and drink in the pub will instead pay £9.25 on Tax Equality Day (September 12).
The discounted prices will appear on all food and beverage menu items across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
For Scotland, however, the pub chain has confirmed that the discount will apply to food and non-alcoholic drinks only.
But the Scots are not completely missing out, as tomorrow’s deals span across the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus.
This comes as tomorrow marks Tax Equality Day, a day serving to highlight the benefit of a permanent VAT reduction in the hospitality industry.
Tim Martin, Wetherspoons founder and chairman, said: “The biggest threat to the hospitality industry is the vast disparity in tax treatment among pubs, restaurants and supermarkets.”
“We call on the chancellor to create tax equality between the hospitality industry and supermarkets.”
All food and drinks in pubs are subject to 20% VAT. In comparison, supermarkets don’t pay VAT on food, and can then afford to offer drinks at discounted prices.
Kate Nicholls OBE, Chief Executive of UKHospitality, explained how this affected the taxpayer: “A reduced rate of hospitality VAT across the UK means lower prices and more jobs, leading to the regeneration of our high streets and communities.”
Brits will rush to their local Wetherspoons tomorrow to enjoy the VAT-slashed results.
On Tax Equality Day, Boozers can enjoy a £4.11 pint of Corona, as an example, for the reduced price of £3.80.
A pint of Bud Light, priced at £4.42, would cost you 30p less than usual at £4.09.
And a 500ml bottle of Kopparberg cider, usually £5.64, will cost £5.22 tomorrow.
For morning-goers, a traditional breakfast originally priced at £4.99 will now cost £4.62.
You could also get a large breakfast, which normally costs £9.99, for £9.25 – saving 74p – at Wetherspoons.
A breakfast wrap can save you 46p tomorrow as it is priced down at £5.75 from £6.21.
To order a Breakfast Muffin along with a drink, including unlimited coffee refills, prices will be slashed from £3.99 to £3.69.
Kids’ breakfasts including a drink will fall from £2.99 to £2.77.
This means a family of four, originally dining for breakfast at the price of £13.96 will now pay £12.92.
As for the lunch and dinner menu, the saving benefits are extensive.
After slashed VAT, a Curry Club with an alcoholic drink at Wetherspoons, originally costing £8.55, will now cost the punter £7.91.
And customers craving a Classic 6oz Beef Burger will save almost 50p as the £5.65 meal is reduced to £5.23.
Hungry customers can order at the bar or via the handy Wetherspoons app, perfect for browsing the wide-ranging menu and securing the best prices.
It should be noted that menu prices vary between pubs and locations, however, the percentage reduction will remain the same.

Check a map – Prices can vary from one location the next, even those close to each other.
So if you’re planning a pint at a Spoons, it’s worth popping in nearby pubs to see if you’re settling in at the cheapest.
Choose your day – Each night the pub chain runs certain food theme nights.
For instance, every Thursday night is curry club, where diners can get a main meal and a drink for a set price cheaper than usual.
Pick-up vouchers – Students can often pick up voucher books in their local near universities, which offer discounts on food and drink, so keep your eyes peeled.
Get appy – The Wetherspoons app allows you to order and pay for your drink and food from your table – but you don’t need to be in the pub to use it.
Taking full advantage of this, cheeky customers have used social media to ask their friends and family to order them drinks. The app is free to download on the App Store or Google Play.
Check the date – Every year, Spoons holds its Tax Equality Day to highlight the benefits of a permanently reduced tax bill for the pub industry.
It usually takes place in September, and last year it fell on Thursday, September 14.
As well as its 12-day Real Ale Festival every Autumn, Wetherspoons also holds a Spring Festival.
Wetherspoons recently revealed that small breakfasts would be reduced to £2.99 or less in 650 pubs across the UK.
This only applies to the small breakfast option but includes all the favourites in a traditional breakfast, with bacon, eggs, sausage, beans and a hash brown.
With this deal, customers save at least 35% whereas the breakfast would normally set them back £4.45.
For an additional £1.56, you can add a Lavazza coffee or Twinings tea with unlimited free refills.
This May, the famous pub chain also introduced a brand new menu with an additional range of dishes.
These include the Ramen Noodle Bowl (£6.99) and a Shawarma Chicken Wrap (£5.70).
The new menu also imitates up-market breakfast ideas with a Fiesta Brunch, which has a poached egg, toast, guacamole, pico de gallo, halloumi and salsa, all for the normal price of £4.36.
The newest member to the Wetherspoons menu is the Sticky Korean Fried Chicken Bowl, priced at £8.49.
Users took to Facebook to report the meal as “delicious” while one pub-goer bragged: “Tonight’s meal in The Society Rooms Stalybridge, pudding, chips, peas and gravy, Korean fried chicken bowl, double gin and tonic, and double rum and coke — all for under £22”.
