Replying to a panicked fan, who questioned whether she was exiting the soap, Garcia told them: “Zoe stays after the time jump hun, thanks for your support.”
The news comes as a relief to fans, who had been concerned that the actress might be among those cut from the cast.
Garcia, known for her role on Channel 4’s Shameless, first appeared on screen as the granddaughter of show regular Pearl Anderson (Dawn Hope) in February 2022.
She is the fourth cast member to officially confirm her return to the soap.
Last month, cast members Nick Pickard, Jennifer Metcalfe, and Kieron Richardson confirmed they would remain with the show beyond the time jump, having signed year-long contract
Over twenty cast members have been let go following the show’s reduction to just three twenty-minute episodes per week.
In recent weeks, several actors have departed the soap as it prepares for these upcoming changes.
One of them was soap favourite Iz Hesketh, who took to social media to announce that she is ‘unemployed’ and ‘looking for work’.
In June The Sun exclusively revealed that Emma Rigby left the Channel 4 soap less than a year after her high profile return.
The actress – who plays Hannah Ashworth – is said to have walked away over changes to the show.
An insider added: “There’s a worry other high profile cast members may see this as an opportunity to leave the show.
“While they’re all very supportive of the soap, the reduced budget and seeing friends and colleagues leave after so many years takes its toll.
“If more go willingly then it may be that the writing is very much on the wall for the show. It will be hard to recover from further blows.”
