GLOBAL has announced the unveiling of 12 new radio stations to join the likes of Heart and Capital radio.

Smart speaker listening now represents 17 per cent of all radio listening, which is up 18 per cent from last year.
Heart Radio’s breakfast show is currently hosted by Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston and is most popular with Heart listeners.
James Rea, Chief Broadcasting and Content Officer at Global, said: “Global is home to the most loved radio brands in the UK, and we’re thrilled to be expanding our offering with one of the biggest simultaneous launches of new radio stations in the country’s history.
“In an age dominated by algorithms, our dedicated teams meticulously craft playlists, sound design, and features to provide our listeners with tailored genres and eras, offering constant companionship throughout their day.
“A huge thanks to all the talented Globallers who have made these new stations possible. All will be revealed soon!”
The new stations will be available on Global Player from Thursday 12 September.
There have been big changes to Globals stations, including Capital.
Roman Kemp said a tearful goodbye to listeners after an incredible 10 years at the station.
He told listeners: “I’ve loved every single moment of my time at Capital.
“The last 10 years have been amazing and hosting the legendary Capital Breakfast is the best job ever.
“But after almost seven years of early alarms, I’m looking forward to some lie-ins and it’s time to hand over the baton!
“It’s been a privilege and an honour to wake up millions of people every day.
“It’s the best job in radio and I’ll miss our listeners and the team at Global lots.
Former Radio 1 star Jordan North took over from him in April this year.
In March Will Njobvu, who hosts for Capital XTRA, announced he was stepping down from his Saturday breakfast show.
Tallia Storm followed the mass exodus and quit her presenting job on Capital Scotland.
