VINTED went down for thousands of users earlier today leaving them unable to buy and sell items.
Shopper and sellers on the popular second hand clothing app complained of issues early on Monday morning.
Thousands of users have reported complaints with the app[/caption]The problem peaked at 8:50am with over 3,000 customers reporting issues, according to Downdetector.
Some 83% of customers with issues complained they could not use the app while some had issues with the website too.
Many affected took to X, formally Twitter, grumbling they were unable to send out parcels to buyers due to the issue.
One user said: “Anyone else’s Vinted not working?? I’ve got parcels to post.”
Another said: “Why is Vinted down when I told the buyers I’d send their parcel this morning.”
While a third joked: “Vinted is down, is this my bank account saying no more?.”
A spokesperson for Vinted told The Sun: “Earlier today, there was a temporary technical incident, which was fixed as soon as the team became aware of it.”
Commenting at the time of the crash, Michael Foote, editor-in-chief of financial comparison site, Quotegoat.com said: “Vinted being down is more than just an inconvenience – it’s a financial headache for countless users.
“For sellers, especially those who rely on the platform for vital income, this downtime is incredibly frustrating. “
“Payments for recent sales are delayed, and sellers can’t list new items, causing a real impact on their income streams.”
“For many, this isn’t just a hobby; it’s a crucial side hustle that supports their financial wellbeing.”
He added: “This is bad news for buyers, too. With Vinted offline, those who depend on it to find affordable second-hand items are forced to look elsewhere – often at higher prices.
“Meanwhile, customers with ongoing disputes or issues have been left hanging. “
It is not the first problem Vinted users have faced in recent months.
Back in May, The Sun revealed that sellers were being warned they may face long delays to get cash due to a payment glitch.
The re-selling platform previously confirmed to The Sun its payment provider had been suffering from a tech issue and it was working to rectify the problem.
At the time, the problem related to tech issues with Vinted’s third party payment service provider, Mangopay.
VINTED is an app where you can buy and sell second-hand clothes and accessories.
Sellers can list items on the app for free and there are no fees for selling items either.
Instead, buyers pay a buyer protection fee on every transaction, worth between 3% and 8% of the sale price before postage, plus 30p to 80p depending on the item’s value.
This fee contributes towards protecting buyers if they have a problem with their order.
Any money you earn as a seller goes into your Vinted Wallet, which you can then withdraw out to your bank account as cash.
Vinted first launched in the UK in 2014 and has grown in popularity.
It has around 16million users in the UK and it is completely free to sign up for.
The app has become popular amongst Brits to help them shop at a discount or flog products for extra cash.
If you’re struggling to get your cash from Vinted, first get in touch with the app and let it know you haven’t received your money.
Provide and evidence to show you haven’t received the money such as your latest bank statements.
There is also information on Vinted’s help page for users who haven’t seen their money hit their bank account. Visit: vinted.co.uk/help/73-my-withdrawal-has-failed.
You can contact the website’s member support team directly via the app if you are still experiencing issues.
If you’re still having issues or aren’t happy with how you have been treated, you may be able to complain to a third party dispute resolution service, such as Complain.biz.
