I don’t even live in the UK but bagged 5 Oasis tickets – people say I’m taking them from ‘real fans’, I just laugh

SITTING at her laptop over 9000 miles away in Australia Jade Cowan, 25, cannot believe her eyes as her place in the queue for Oasis Reunion tickets drops from 600 to number two.

Keeping her cool, Jade holds it together and nabs four standing room tickets to the coveted Wembley concert next year paying £127 a piece.

Meanwhile on her mobile phone the savvy Pilates instructor manages to swipe a fifth ticket ensuring she, boyfriend Caleb Purkiss, 23, and close family can all be there to watch the Gallagher brothers next August.

Speaking exclusively to Fabulous, Jade says “I bought tickets for our entire family to see Oasis, it’s a dream come true.

“We never thought we’d even get in ‘the queue for the queue’ to buy on Ticketmaster.”

The couple, who spent a total of £635, can’t believe their luck with Jade sharing a video of their success on her TikTok account.

However, within hours of sharing the video Jade found herself the target of jealous trolls accusing Jade of being unworthy of her tickets.

“We filmed buying the tickets for posterity and shared it on social media,” she explains.

“I wasn’t prepared for the onslaught of nasty comments and trolling. I was shocked.”

“Do you even know who Oasis is?” typed one angry fan.

“Leave the tickets for the Brit fans,” commented another, “Not fair. Not fair. Why are people in Australia getting tickets and I can’t buy them in the UK.”

“You’re a teenager. You are not old enough to buy tickets,” said one of the keyboard warriors, while another added, “I couldn’t get my husband tickets and he’s crying.”

Jade, 25 , who lives in the suburbs of Cardiff, Newcastle, New South Wales with her mechanic partner Caleb, says she was shocked at first but now sees the funny side.

“Now I think it’s a total crack up and people are coming to us for ticket purchase tips,” she says.

“I refuse to delete the trolling. It doesn’t bother me.”

Despite being in their early twenties Jade and Caleb are long time Oasis fans.

“Our parents were always playing Oasis songs,” she says.

“We grew up listening to them. Caleb lives and breathes Oasis and admittedly sometimes he overdoes it.”

Caleb agrees adding: “I love Oasis. They’re the best.

“Just because I’m 23 and Jades 25 doesn’t mean we can’t be fans. Oasis isn’t just for OAPs.”

In fact, the pair’s love of the bad boys of Brit pop is something the couple take very seriously.

“We only listen to Oasis songs on the original vinyl records,” Caleb says.

“We’re proper hardcore. We have a record player and speakers in every room.”

“We’re proper old school. It’s Champagne Supernova all the way when we get home. Our vinyl album collection is amazing,” adds Jade.

“When Liam and Noel announced the reunion tour, we vowed to do whatever it takes to get tickets.”

As a result, the couple launched Operation Half a World Away named after the Oasis hit to obtain tickets.

“We were at my mum’s for dinner, and we had four phones and three laptops logged in to Ticketmaster and  I told everyone to use their own account,” Jade says.

The family all used the UK Ticketmaster site but didn’t make it into the presale ballot.

I have every right to buy tickets on the British website like everyone else

“An hour before the official ticket sales started, we all logged on and selected different dates and were placed in the waiting room,” Jade says.

“On one phone we were 80,0000 in the queue, on another 70,0000 and we gave up any hope of getting a ticket.”

Then Jade rechecked her laptop and phone and was stunned to find she was number 500 in the queue and Caleb was sitting at 600.

“The internet kept stalling, the pages needed refreshing, and it was the most nail-biting experience I’ve ever been through,” she admits.

“Caleb kept butting in. I had to tell him to shut up. He was like a super excited puppy waiting for a ball to be thrown.

“We were only allowed to buy four tickets per purchase. But when the fifth ticket was processed on the second Ticketmaster account the room exploded.

DON'T LOOK BACK IN ANGER... WHY I GAVE UP ON OASIS TICKETS

Fabulous Deputy Editor Josie Griffiths shares her nightmare experience trying to secure the UK's most wanted tickets...

As I sat at my friends Pippa and Ben’s wedding last Saturday, the background noise to the speeches was slightly different from the usual ‘awws’ and rustle of tissues you hear during such a poignant moment.

It was the casual groans and ‘for f*ck’s sake’ and ‘can you believe that?’ as those around me suffered the inevitable disappointment of trying to get Oasis tickets.

For hours that day, they’d watched their queue places drop from 462,000 to the illusive number one – only to either be left holding three £390 tickets they couldn’t possibly justify (my friend) or be kicked out of the queue altogether because “we think you might be a bot” (my husband).

It was an emotional rollercoaster I was happy to skip.

Don’t get me wrong, Oasis have some absolute bangers – I happily swayed with my friends and family to both Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back In Anger (our last song) at my wedding three weeks ago.

But as excitement mounted in the days following their surprise comeback announcement, I knew a Saturday spent queuing with millions of others wasn’t on the cards for me.

Not only that, but I’m still dubious about how the tour is actually going to go, given Noel and Liam’s famously fractured relationship.

It’s possible I’m too young to really “get it” – my husband, five years my senior, was absolutely desperate to see Oasis perform.

And happily he does get to go, as my two brothers-in-law managed to score three gold-dust tickets.

They were a wedding present, so I can’t tell you the cost, although when his other two brothers got married they went on trips to New York and Ireland as a similar gift, so I’m sure this was a fair whack.

Do I have FOMO? Not really. Gig ticket prices are getting crazier than ever and you can always watch the highlights on TV or social media.

I’m sure Liam G would scoff at my attitude but that’s OK, I find the glow of a concert is normally dimmed by the time you actually make it back from Wembley – there’s another lovely queue ahead for the Oasis super fans as they try to get the Tube home.

“It meant we were all going to Oasis.”

According to Jade she managed to snare tickets because she chose a specific date in the waiting room and standing room tickets.

“If you selected specific seats and they sold it caused delays and crashes,” she says.

“We figured we should just go to the standing room because it’s the most basic ticket and it worked.”

Jade and Caleb are now planning their British Oasis Reunion holiday next August.

“Caleb doesn’t even have a passport. He’s been on a plane once and never been overseas,” Jade says.

“I have only holidayed in Bali, and Fiji, this will be the holiday of a lifetime.”

As for her trolls, Jade says she won’t pay them a blind bit of notice.

“I’m still stunned that trolls think they have a right to police what music you can and cannot listen to,” she says.

“I’m not a teenager. I’m 25. I have every right to buy tickets on the British website like everyone else.

“Turns out this Gen Z couple is smart and has great taste in music. The trolls can all jog on. We’re going to Oasis baby!”
