VIEWERS of BBC’s Beyond Paradise are worried one of the cast could be about to announce their exit.
Viewers of the BBC drama are excited for the new season to air, but have shared concern that a cast favourite might be about to say goodbye to the show.
Last season saw Martha Lloyd (played by Sally Bretton) worry whether she is the right match for Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall). At the end of series two, Martha and Humphrey decided to call off their wedding, throwing their relationship into doubt.
Martha’s ex Archie (Jamie Bamber) is also set to return but it’s thought he could be there to make things difficult and try to win Martha back.
The third series will feature Kris Marshall as DI Humphrey Goodman, Sally Bretton as Martha Lloyd, Zahra Ahmadi as DS Esther Williams, Dylan Llewellyn as PC Kelby Hartford, Barbara Flynn as Anne Lloyd, Felicity Montagu as Margo Martins, Jade Harrison as CS Charlie Woods, and Melina Sinadinou as Zoe Williams.
Speaking on a fan Facebook page, viewers have shared their thoughts about what the new series could include.
One person wrote: “I don’t understand Martha. First, she decides she is not going to do any more fertility treatments (I know they are expensive and can affect your emotions but she should discuss it with Humphrey before standing him up at the clinic), then she decides the wedding her mother planned for her and Humphrey isn’t what she wanted.
“AND she waits until her wedding day to tell her mother this. I have watched this series more than once but it gets my hackles up every time I see that last episode.”
The post sparked a strong reaction, as one person responded: “I wish they’d put Humphrey with someone else.”
Another shared: “He deserves better.”
“Yeah, I agree, Humphrey deserves someone a lot better. It has always been about Martha and what Martha wants,” said a third.
Another fan suggested: “Well, with the wedding called off and Archie coming back, maybe they will leave together.”
The synopsis for the new series doesn’t give much away, as it reads: “Set in the picturesque locations of Devon and Cornwall, there are plenty of cases to keep the team busy, including a body found in the river on the county border, a perplexing chocolate box poisoning, a historic farming feud, and a spiking incident on the water.
“Away from the police station, Martha and Humphrey face unexpected challenges as foster parents, while the reappearance of Martha’s old flame Archie presents an unforeseen challenge.
“While Esther finds herself dealing with an unexpected twist in her personal life, a health scare throws Anne into turmoil, dredging up old wounds. Meanwhile, Kelby sets off on an enlightening personal quest.”
