80s TV legend hasn’t aged a day after finding fame 37 years ago on hit US sitcom.
Jasmine Guy has done it all as an actress, singer, dancer and director who first made her way onto TV in 1982 as a dancer on Fame.
Jasmine took to Instagram to show off her youthful appearance[/caption] Jasmine starred in all 144 episodes of A Different World[/caption]The now 62-year-old’s acting career reached new heights when she landed a recurring role as Whitley Gilbert on the television sitcom A Different World.
The show was spin-off of The Cosby Show and was created by Bill Cosby himself airing from 1987 to 1993 on NBC.
It followed the lives of the students at Hillman College and Jasmine starred in all 144 episodes.
The sitcom star wrote three episodes of the show and directed another, she started as a co-star and ended up replacing the show’s original star Lisa Bonet.
Now, 37 years on Jasmine looks just like she did in her role of southern belle Whitley.
The actress often takes to social media to share pics of her current and past self looking glam.
In one snap jasmine looked effortless as she showed off her youthful appearance in a white button down shirt which she styled with gold hoops.
Fans took to the comments to compliment the actress, one fan said: “The original “IT Girl” legend (fire emoji)”
“Looking better than ever!” added another.
“You are even more beautiful as time moves forward!” penned a third.
As well as her defining role on A Different World she also appeared in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as Kayla one of Will Smith‘s girlfriends.
Jasmine has featured in a number of other well-known TV shows such as Melrose Place, Stompin’ at the Savoy and The Vampire Diaries.
The TV star has gone on to gain many accolades for her work such as when she was nominated for NAACP Image Award and when she won an Emmy in 2023 for her role in hit drama Chronicles of Jessica Wu.
As well as acting she also dabbled in singing when she released a self-titled album in 1990.
The album peaked at No. 143 on the US charts and had tracks such as Try Me and Another Like My Lover.
Jasmine was known to have had a close friendship with rapper Tupac Shakur after meeting during his guest appearance on A Different World.
Tupac even recovered from a gunshot wound in 1994 at the actresses house and she later wrote his mothers biography.
