Molly Mae Hague’s “rambling” new YouTube video is an “assault course” as she attempts to “repair” her brand, before “healing” from her split with Tommy Fury, a body language expert has said.
The 25-year-old mum of one posted a 35 minute long video this evening, talking her fans through the last week.
This is the second video Molly has posted since her split from her boxer fiance, in August, who she shares daughter Bambi, one, with.
In Molly’s previous video, the Love Island star said that she would always “love” and “respect” Tommy who is rumoured to have cheated on Molly before she kicked him out of their £3.5m Cheshire mansion.
And in today’s video, Molly appeared to try to move on from the split, by stating that she is “excited”, and has “really good feelings about this month.”
Despite her attempt at being upbeat and optimistic though, body language Judi James said that Molly’s “non-verbal” signals show that she is feeling anything but.
She told Fabulous: “Molly Mae’s video is incongruent throughout with her words telling the fans that she is excited and even having ‘really good feelings about this month’ while her non-verbal signals self-heckle, often seeming to show the opposite.
“She begins by pulling herself into a huge brown leather jacket that she muscles her shoulders into as a form of protection.
“That show of protection shows up a scene later when she is leaning low into the camera with the jacket now looking like a tortoise shell that she is peering out of, suggesting high levels of emotional vulnerability.
She continued: “When Molly says she is ‘so happy’ she sounds on the brink of tears and hides her face with her hands in a cut-off ritual.
“Her overkill, performed rituals are more frequent and more constant but they look like self-motivators, like her clapping hands that she seems to use to describe childlike excitement.”
Molly only touches on her circumstances very briefly in the video, mentioning that Tommy took Bambi out for the day.
Although she says this in a positive tone, Judi noted that the corners of her mouth pull down into a “micro-grimace” as she says “things are going well?”
Judi added that Molly appears to be “deflecting” her emotions in the video, for example when she mimes looking tearful over a Harry Potter movie, and then pretends to be angry about some meatballs that have been wrongly delivered.
Molly, who was due to marry Tommy before their split states in the video that she will soon be attending a wedding in Cannes, and is seen having a white dress fitting in a wedding.
After five years together, Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury split up in August 2024.
At around 4pm on Wednesday, August 14, Molly-Mae and Tommy suffer an explosive showdown and Molly-Mae announces her split from fiancé Tommy Fury, saying ‘ I never imagined our story would end, especially not this way’.
An hour later Tommy shares a separate and brief statement confirming they have parted ways, and thanks Molly-Mae for making him ‘a dad’.
The real reason they split emerges and on Thursday, August 15 The Sun reveals how Molly-Mae learned Tommy had cheated on her – leading to an explosive showdown.
On Saturday, August 17, The Sun reveals how Molly-Mae had been sent an upsetting video showing Tommy kissing a girl in a nightclub in North Macedonia on a lads holiday.
Exactly one week after the split a Danish woman accused of getting close to Tommy speaks to The Sun. On Wednesday, August 21, she denies she is the girl who kissed Tommy.
She describes the event as “fun”, but then adds that it is a “bit weird going to a wedding dress shop in this period of my life”, whilst looking downwards, which Judi said is a “cut off to hide her emotions.”
Judi added that Molly does lots of fidgeting, scratching and hair-tossing throughout the video, suggesting that she is feeling anxious.
The body language pro contined: “Molly-mae’s performance is brave and stoic but the end scene where she talks about ‘hollow pits of sadness round my eyes’ and asks if the ‘stress of the last month has caused me to age’ seems to bring her to the brink of tears.
“She should be applauded for her masking and her getting back to work plan here but the brief emotional glimpses do look telling.”
