Salerno Airport has only recently reopened, after closing in 2016, and becomes the ninth Italian airports to be served by Jet2.
The airline claims that the new flights make it easier for customers to “travel to an iconic stretch of Italian coastline”.
It also says that the new flights have been launched due to “strong demand” from UK holidaymakers.
That demand has been answered with weekly Monday services from both Birmingham and Manchester Airports, which will fly from May 26 until September 29 next year.
As well as putting the new routes on sale now, Jet2holidays has also launched stays at a range of new hotels located on the Amalfi Coast.
A selection of accommodation options are available to book now in the resorts of Amalfi, Positano, Ravello and Vietri sul Mare.
Furthermore, holidaymakers can also choose from a selection of hotels in a brand-new destination to Jet2holidays, the city of Salerno.
The ancient port city sits on the edge of the Amalfi Coast and features a cathedral, an old town, parks and museums.
The coast meanwhile located is described as an “unforgettable holiday destination, offering a combination of Neapolitan Riviera scenery and beautiful beaches”.
Package holidays with Jet2holidays include transfers to and from the airport and ATOL protection, along with friendly flight times and 22kg baggage allowance.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2 said: “The launch of Salerno for Summer 25 gives customers and independent travel agents fantastic access to the beautiful, iconic Amalfi Coast and we are delighted to be adding this brand-new gateway.
“As well as giving customers and independent travel agents direct access to the Amalfi Coast, we are expanding the number of Italian Airports we have on sale to nine.
“To give holidaymakers an even bigger slice of ‘La Dolce Vita’ we are also very pleased to be announcing a selection of hotels available to book now across the Amalfi Coast and surrounding region, not to mention a brand-new resort in the beautiful port city of Salerno.
Jet2 isn’t the only airline launching new flights in the coming months.
“The Amalfi Coast is one of the most iconic destinations across the world, so we are very confident that these new flights and holidays will be a big hit with holidaymakers wanting to explore the pastel-painted villages and cliffs that the destination is famous for.
“We look forward to taking customers on their well-deserved holidays to the Amalfi Coast and Salerno and we know that our VIP customer service will be the perfect pairing with this iconic destination.”
The new Amalfi Coast aren’t the only routes Jet2 has announced recently, with flights from Glasgow to Budapest revealed as part of the airline’s winter flights for the 2025/26 season.
The new twice weekly service will fly on Mondays and Fridays from November 28 next year, until December 15.
Meanwhile, Virgin Atlantic has also launched two brand new routes to exciting destinations.
And this small airport has plans for three brand new Ryanair routes.
