A TEACHER has revealed the worst name she has come across at school.
Many parents opt for unique baby names to make their child feel different – but this one certainly took the biscuit.
The teacher was left baffled by the students name[/caption] People said it was obscene to name a child after vampires[/caption]Taking to social media anonymously, the teacher dished out which name left her stunned while working in education.
And the name itself was based on vampire, but no, it wasn’t Dracula.
Instead it seemed the millennial parents had taken inspiration from the cult-favourite teenage film series Twilight.
She revealed that she often comes across bizarre names at school, but this one stood out.
She wrote: “I am a teacher, so I run across a lot of weird names.
“But I got taken back the other day when I was at car rider duty.
“One of the kids was named Renesmee(iykyk).
“I actually did a double take!”
The teacher was of course talking about the film saga Twilight where the main characters Edward Cullen and Bella Swan give birth to a vampire/human hybrid called Renesmee Carlie Cullen.
“Who knew we had a vampire child in our mix????” she joked.
The teacher had shared her story on the Reddit forum NameNerdCirclejerk and people were quick to share their opinions on the ‘obscene’ name.
One person wrote: “Lord when I read Twilight at 14 and they named the kid Renesme, I thought that was the stupidest s**t ever. To name your kid that is obscene.”
Another commented: “My daughter has twins called Renee and Renesmae in her class. I wish i was lying.”
“I have taught soooo many children named Bella born 2008-2013, it’s awful,” penned a third.
Despite the film series finishing years ago names inspired by the characters in Twilight are still popular.
According to the US Social Security Administration, the name Isabella (which is the name of the main character in the Twilight Saga) has risen five places up the charts since the vampire novels by Stephanie Meyer were published.
Other names form the vampire clan including Edward, Alice and Emmett, have all reached the top 100 on popular baby naming sites.
Esme, the mother of the vampires, is predicted to reach the charts for the first time ever.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “We got my son’s yearbook over the summer and he has not one but two Khaleesis in his school…”
“I’ve had a Renesmee in my class before! I also did a double take,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “Rene and Esme are nice names alone just CHOOSE ONE AHHH.”
