A CASH-SAVVY mum has wowed people with her epic ”Beetlejuice” home makeover on a budget.
Sprucing up your home can oftentimes set you back thousands – but thrifty mum Bea Maskery recently proved that doesn’t need to be the case, and the jaw-dropping glow-up is sure to inspire you.
Some reckoned the home was no giving ‘Beetlejuice vibes’[/caption] People were obsessed with the striped aesthetic and the ‘spooky’ decorations[/caption]According to Bea, the family moved into their new home at the start of the year and spent several months giving it more character.
But while they had been refurbishing it since January and the process was time-consuming, the DIY lovers managed to slash the costs – and the results were totally worth the wait and effort.
Taking to the popular DIY On A Budget Official page on Facebook, Bea stunned fellow members, sharing images of their home before and after the fabulous slow-reno.
When the crafty woman first moved into the home, the rooms looked pretty basic – the living space, for instance, had neutral white walls, a few photos framed on the wall, a large sofa and a rug in the middle.
The kitchen, although clean, was pretty drab and drearily dull, featuring black tiled flooring, simple white cupboards and tile splashback of the same tone.
The overall aesthetic was not much different in the bedroom, which boasted a leather armchair, a fluffy grey rug and a small study table.
However, with a little bit of creativity and artistic vision, Bea managed to give the lacklustre rooms a totally new image, leaving Facebook users open-mouthed.
The once-white walls were replaced with a funky black-and-white theme and the living room was also filled with plenty of décor and photo frames.
The ”spooky” makeover – perfect for the upcoming Halloween season – also saw Bea ditch the old basic sofa for a more chic black version.
The kitchen, too, underwent an epic makeover, with the dull cupboards now gleaming in turquoise – a great contrast with the black tiles.
According to Bea, who also added a gorgeous clock right above the stove, she had snapped the stunning paint from Dunelm.
Fellow DIY fanatics can try out a small test pot of the lovely shade for just £3 – or bag a 5l pot for £32.
The black theme was also introduced into the bedroom, which now featured a comfy bed with black bedding, a matching headboard, two floating shelves ornamented with plants, books and other bits and bobs.
