WITH the kids now back in school and starting a new year, you might be considering a thorough clear-out of their belongings.
From old clothes they’ve outgrown to the new outfits you picked up over the summer holidays, their wardrobe might be overflowing with a little bit of everything.
But actually getting to the point of sorting out their wardrobes can be quite a daunting task.
After years of accumulating a variety of outfits, going through all their clothes can feel like an overwhelming mission.
However, one mum has discovered a simple hack – which can make the wardrobe task that slight bit easier.
Nessa, who goes by the name of @cleanwithnessa on TikTok, recently revealed her trick and it has since gone viral with over 6.9 million views and 296.8K likes.
After discovering the trick herself, the mum has claimed it to be the “best hack ever” when it comes to moving things around the house and cleaning.
She also revealed that it is her “favourite moving hack.”
Nessa first starts off by laying a bed sheet flat out on the floor of their bedroom.
The mum-of-two then grabs a big handful of her child’s clothes whilst still keeping them on hangers before placing them onto the bedsheet in a pile on the floor.
She then continues to do the same until the wardrobe is empty.
Nessa then gets each corner of the bed sheet and ties each opposite end up to form a parcel around the clothes.
She then carries it into another wardrobe before then hanging the clothes up.
It also allows her to quickly go through the clothes and see what is really needed or not.
As well as this, the trick means that she can quickly and easily hang the clothes up into another wardrobe.
People couldn’t believe it when she filmed herself doing the savvy parenting hack, and over 1,000 people rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts.
“[This] is now my favourite moving hack,” gushed a fan.
“I just moved and I’m mad I didn’t see this before,” another said.
A third wrote: “All these years I’ve been doing it so much harder than I have too.”
A fourth added: “I wish I saw this 10 minutes ago before I shoved all of my clothes into a garbage bag.”
Whilst someone else simply said: “Genius.”
1. Declutter Before You Pack
Sort through your belongings and get rid of anything you no longer need. Donate, sell, or recycle items to lighten your load.
2. Create an Inventory
Make a list of all your items. This helps keep track of everything and ensures nothing gets lost in the move.
3. Use Quality Packing Materials
Invest in sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, and packing tape. This will protect your belongings during the move.
4. Label Everything
Clearly label each box with its contents and the room it belongs to. This makes unpacking much easier and more organized.
5. Pack a ‘First Day’ Box
Include essentials like toiletries, a change of clothes, snacks, and important documents. This will keep you from rummaging through boxes on your first day.
6. Take Photos of Electronics Setup
Before unplugging your electronics, take photos of the wiring setup. This will make it easier to reconnect everything at your new place.
7. Use Suitcases for Heavy Items
Pack books and other heavy items in rolling suitcases. This makes them easier to transport and reduces the risk of injury.
8. Colour-Code Your Boxes
Use different coloured stickers or markers for each room. This will help movers quickly identify where each box should go in your new home.
