MCDONALD’S is shaking up its menu in September and amongst the items added will be a never-before-seen hot drink.
The fast-food giant is known for its extensive drinks menu, serving a range of coffees, frappes and shakes.
In the past, fans of the chain have been treated to a number of limited edition cold drinks, such as the Biscoff Frappe.
But this time, the home of the Golden Arches is spicing up its hot drinks range.
On September 4, it will bring out a brand new Twix Latte for customers to try across its more than 1,450 restaurants.
The only other latte McDonald’s currently has on offer is its classic Toffee flavoured one, so the new twist will be a welcome change.
The coffee based Twix drink comes with a caramel blend of coffee.
A regular will costs £2.69 while a large costs £3.29.
The Sun tried out a cup of the chocolate inspired beverage at the McDonald’s HQ a few week before it launched in stores.
When it comes to McDonald’s coffee, I have only ever tried its frappe range and enjoy them very occasionally as a treat.
So, I was really curious to try the new Twix Latte and expand my pallet.
First thing’s first, if you are a fan of caramel based drinks, you will enjoy this.
And if you have a super sweet tooth, even better.
The latte is blended with caramel and topped with chocolate cream and dusted with very small pieces of Twix.
If anything, it reminded me of hot version of its classic iced caramel frappe but with a more chocolatey flavour to it.
I think if you like Starbuck’s caramel macchiato you would also enjoy this – and it’s a few quid cheaper, too.
My usual coffee order is either a strong black Americano or a cappuccino, so there was not enough caffeine in this drink for my personal taste.
However, I can see how this would appeal to fans of milder coffee-based drinks or someone in need of a sweet pick me up.
The drink is otherwise enjoyable and is worth trying out if you are a fan of the classic caramel biscuit chocolate bar.

The list of menu items making a return include:
These will launch in conjunction with the new Twix Latte and also run for six weeks until October.
McDonald’s regularly switches up its menu to make for new items, so it always worth reading updates online to avoid missing out.

You might not think it, but you can end up being charged more solely based on the McDonald’s restaurant you choose.
Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30p cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other.
Meanwhile, you can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 by filling in a feedback survey found on any old McDonald’s receipt.
The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey.
You’ll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer.
Make sure you check out all the various apps and platforms if you’re ordering McDonald’s to your home too.
Our research found some can charge up to £1.20 more than others.
