A SELF-styled “hair therapist” has shared her secret for turning wispy strands into bouncy curls.
Vaneesha Khanna once had thin and lifeless strands that people told her wouldn’t grow – but now she has an enviable mane.
The content creator, who became a hair oil entrepreneur after her tresses fell out in clumps, says she found a “liquid gold” solution for those with thinning and broken hair.
Vaneesha claims that people told her: “Sorry, there’s no way you can have long, thick, healthy hair.”
But she has since proved them wrong.
“After researching tirelessly, I finally cracked the code with my own hair oil formula,” she says.
“Confidence starts from the roots, and I’m loving the transformation.”
Her incredible solution was a concoction of oils and herbs that she blended into “liquid gold”.
Vaneesha then decided to produce and package her homemade oil for other women struggling with broken hair.
The VNSK Beauty Hair Growth Enhancing Oil costs £22 for around 60ml of liquid and has about 11 uses per bottle.
This means each application costs £2 – which isn’t a bad price to pay for a lifetime of luscious locks that people constantly mistake for extensions.
You can also pick up the oil in a larger 120ml for £39.
It is described as a “holistic blend of researched herbs and oils used to regrow hair through scalp nourishment and stimulation”.
“This oil blend stimulates blood flow to the scalp when massaged to increase hair density and thickness for healthier hair,” a blurb reads.
“Scalp stimulation via massaging paired with a nutrient dense hair oil will lead to the growth of more hair.
“The first thing you’ll notice after using our oil just once is how soft your hair feels.
“Our hair is composed of the protein keratin.
“Using certain oils, like the ones in our formula which contain lauric acid, helps the hair to hold onto protein.
“We use specific essential oils in our blend to target conditions like psoriasis, dandruff and inflammation.”
Hair experts at Philip Kingsley shared the four stages of the hair growtn cycle are: Anagen, Catagen, Telogen and Exogen
Anagen Phase: Also known as the ‘Growth Phase’ or ‘Active Phase’, is when the cells in the root of your hair are most rapidly dividing so more new hair is formed.
During the Anagen Phase, hair grows around half an inch a month [about six inches a year], and faster in the summer than in winter.
This phase of the hair growth cycle lasts an average of three to five years.
Catagen Phase: Following the Anagen Phase, your hair cycle enters a short transitional phase known as the Catagen Phase, which signals the end of active hair growth and cuts individual hairs off from the blood supply and from the cells that produce new hair.
Approximately three percent of all hairs are in this stage at any time and it lasts for around 10 days.
Telogen Phase: The third stage of your natural hair growth cycle is the Telogen Phase, a resting period when strands remain in their follicles but are not actively growing.
An estimate of 10-15 percent of your hairs are in the Telogen Phase at any given moment.
The Telogen Phase lasts around three months or 100 days.
Exogen Phase: The final stage of the Hair Growth Cycle, when individual hair strands are released from their follicles and fall out.
Now the whole process begins again.
