The Public Ministry of the Dominican Republic executed an arrest warrant against Tekashi after the alleged assault.
“This court issues an arrest warrant against the accused and the execution of the guarantee of 500 thousand Dominican pesos,” the statement, translated from Spanish, read.
The incident allegedly involved Tekashi at a recording studio in La Vega early in the morning of October 15.
The rapper and his team allegedly assaulted two music producers, including Nelson Alfonso Hilario Garcia, after they got into a confrontation with his girlfriend, Yailin.
“He grabbed both of my producers, they destroyed my studio, through no fault of their own, without knowing him,” Producer Diamond La Mafia told Diario Libre at the time.
“Also threatening me by video call to fight, saying he is armed.”
Hilario Garcia received blunt force trauma to the head and face, said the Public Ministry.
Diamond La Mafia said at the time that Tekashi was jealous of his relationship with Yailin.
Just months after his scuffle in the Dominican Republic, Tekashi was charged with domestic abuse in the country again.
In January, the rapper was booked into a Santo Domingo jail.
This was the first time he had been arrested on these charges, however, in 2019, Tekashi admitted to years of domestic violence between 2011 and 2018.
The admission came as part of an agreement with the New York City government at a pre-trial hearing.
Tekashi pleaded guilty to nine federal counts in a racketeering case to get a reduced sentence.
In August 2023, he was booked into a Palm Beach County jail in Florida after failing to appear in court.
He had been driving with a suspended license but was released from custody a few hours later.
Earlier that year, in March, Tekashi was assaulted by a group of people at a gym in Florida.
