SAINSBURY’S have sent fashionistas into a frenzy with their latest cardigan collection that’s perfect for the autumn season ahead.
As much as we’d like to stay in summer, the autumn months are right around the corner – nd if you’re looking to replenish your wardrobe with cosy bits, best get racing to the local Sainsbury’s.
This is because the popular supermarket has launched their new autumn range, with affordable knitwear starting from as little as £14.
The collection has already become a major hit amongst fashionistas and amongst those raving about it was also Isla Pedley, who took to TikTok to show off her top finds.
Amongst the gorgeous autumn must-haves was a chic TU knitted vest top in black and white, she shared in the clip.
Priced at a purse-friendly £16, this little number would look amazing paired with wide-leg bottoms and some sunnies on top – perfect for an expensive-looking ensemble on a bugdet.
”The quality is so good,” said Isla, who reckoned this was ”a Mango dupe” from the high street.
With temperatures now slowly but surely dropping and the evenings getting more chilly, it’s also time to find your autumn coat of the season if you haven’t already.
Sainsbury’s is the place to go if you’re not a fan of the bulky jackets and puffer coats, as they’re selling smart boxy jackets for £35 – and they come in heaps of neutral colours too.
No autumn wardrobe is complete without a cosy cardigan you can throw on when feeling a bit cold – and the supermarket has come to rescue with several £18 cardis that are both stylish and practical.
Whether you’re after earthy colours or want to go for something brighter, like baby pink, there is one for every fashionista.
However, you might want to visit the store pronto, as some sizes are already running low in stock.
”Honestly, why didn’t people tell me to run to Sainsbury’s sooner? Because there’s so much good stuff.
”Honestly, girls, go run to your nearest Sainsbury’s because I’m telling you – those cardigans will sell out.”
Whilst browsing the store, the style lover, who posts under the username @islaapedleyy, managed to find several bits for her autumn wardrobe.
As well as finding a white cardigan with dark brown buttons, a stunning size 8 khaki cardie, as well as a similar style cardigan in brown also in size 8.
Meanwhile, the adorable baby pink cardie, also size 8, retailed for £14.
DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:
The supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, as you head in to do your weekly food shop you can also pick up a selection of purse-friendly, stylish pieces for all the family.
Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent increase in the quarter thanks to a ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earnt the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.
Asda’s clothing line George has made £1.5 million for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury’s clothes sold at full price rather than discounted and Nutmeg at Morrisons sales are also up 2 per cent in the past year.
So what is it about supermarket fashion that is becoming so successful?
Apart from the clothing actually being affordable, it’s good quality too – with many being part of schemes such as the Better Cotton Initiative.
A lot of the time they keep to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year.
Plus because they buy so much stock they can turn around pieces quickly and buy for cheaper because of the volumes.
Fellow fashionistas flocked to comments, with one advising others to check out another popular high street store for autumn staples.
”M&S have my fave little cardigans – don’t sleep on M&S such gorgeous little cardigans and so cheap.”
Another cried: ”Sainsburys never have the size 8s or 10s out I swear!”
”Running,” a third was influenced.
