A HOMEOWNER shared the technique she used to transform her grubby patio.
She showed a before and after comparison of the outdoor area, which she used a £1 buy to clean.
Posting on a Facebook group for gardening, the user revealed the budget item she swears by for glowing up her patio.
She showed her fellow green-fingered posters what her patio looked like before she tackled it.
The stone paving had green discolouring on the tiles as well as on the grout in between.
“I actually can’t believe it’s the same patio,” she wrote as she shared the after picture.
The Facebook user had completely removed the green grime from the stones and the grout.
“I tried Wilko Patio Cleaner plus Wet and Forget, neither worked for me,” she explained.
“This was Elbow Grease and [a] jet washer, I’m so happy with result.”
A 500 mililtre spray bottle of Elbow Grease is available for £1.20 from Tesco.
She revealed that she sprayed the cleaner on the stone slabs and scrubbed it in with a brush.
Finally, she used a power washer to remove the product and grime from the patio.
According to the poster, she went though three bottles of Elbow Grease to finish her entire patio.
She added that the cleaner and power washer slowed down the grime formation.
“I did it a few weeks ago and it didn’t come up but this time I was much more thorough,” she explained.
“You don’t need any fancy chemicals, just a jet washer and a good scrub.”
Facebook users shared their thoughts on the technique in the comments section.
