MARGOT Robbie’s flawless appearance in Barbie was surprisingly the result of sipping on a bitter drink.
The complexion-boosting hot beverage has been likened to a “witch’s brew” by the movie’s skincare expert.
Jasmina Vico took inspiration from flawless photos taken in the 1940s when tasked with ensuring the cast of the Barbie movie had “perfect” skin.
She told Vogue a glowing complexion is achieved by calming the nervous system and keeping the liver healthy.
Milk thistle is a popular drink in her native country Croatia because of its ability to cleanse the liver.
“When that happens, our liver automatically produces more glutathione, which then makes the skin more radiant,” Vico said.
“One of the most important ingredients within it is silymarin, which is now featured a lot in skincare formulas.”
She recommended brewing the tea for at least 20 minutes to get the “bitter” taste needed to help flush the liver.
Robbie was so convinced by its abilities that she made the drink to share with her castmates at director Greta Gerwig’s Barbie sleepover.

While Vico recommended brewing the beverage for 20 minutes, the manufacturer has different instructions.
