A VINTED whizz, who sold her first item after just two hours, has revealed her top tips for making sales on the site.
Vinted is an online marketplace where people can buy and sell second hand clothes, shoes and accessories.
It’s completely free to upload clothes to the app and Vinted does not take a cut of sellers’ profits and instead charges buyers a small fee to purchase each item.

“Vinted is incredibly easy”, she said.
Vicky said that when selling on Vinted, you should not “chuck a load of stuff on all at once”, and should instead upload your clothes in small batches.
She explained that this way, you can monitor what is working and what isn’t working.
For example, she said that she has found success when she posts items between 7pm and 9pm, as this is when a lot of people are looking at the site.
Vicky said that it is absolutely “crucial” to make sure you take your photos in good, natural light.
She added that it is best to make sure the background of the photos is plain, and to hang clothes up so that sellers can get a clear view of them.
The Vinted fan said that another thing that will help you to make sales is to be really honest in the description.
For example, if your item is a size 12, it is best to give details on whether it is true to size, or whether it fits slightly bigger or smaller than you would expect.
“You could also even put in there the year that it was bought it and how often it’s been used”, she said.
Discussing her experience with Vinted, Vicky said: “It’s super easy to use, I’ve found that things shift really quickly”, she said.
Online marketplaces like Vinted and Depop have millions of users across the UK, with the cost-of-living crisis only increasing their popularity.

According to the popular platform, sellers do not have to pay tax on earnings they make from the site.
This, HMRC stated, is because selling personal items through platforms like Vinted is not itself taxable.
”If the money a member makes on Vinted over a year is less than the amount they paid for the items they are selling, then there is no tax to pay,” a Vinted spokesperson explained.
”Generally, only business sellers “trading” for profit might need to pay tax.
”A tax-free allowance of £1,000 has been in place since 2017 for people who trade for profit.”
