GENE Gallagher shares his dad Liam’s love for music, and supported him on his 2024 tour.
Find out more about Gene as Oasis make the huge announcement that they’re reuniting for a comeback in 2025.
Gene Gallagher was born on July 2, 2001, to Nicole Appleton and Liam Gallagher.
He was named by his mum after Kiss frontman Gene Simmons – although his dad claims he’s actually named after the “King of Swing” Gene Krupa.
Gene’s part of indie rock group Villanelle, who are kicking off their debut UK headline tour later in 2024.
It follows a stint for his band supporting his dad Liam on his own run of arena shows, something Gene insists they had to work for.
He told The Times: “The first time my dad came to see me he said: ‘Go on, let’s see what you’re made of because if you’re s*** you’re not playing.’”
Gene’s also been spotted on our TV screens.
He’s twice starred in Channel 4 show Celebrity Gogglebox – first alongside his dad Liam and nan Peggy in 2017, before reappearing alongside his mum Nicole in 2023.
Nicole is a Canadian singer-songwriter, actor, television and radio presenter.
She’s most well known as part of pop group All Saints.
They had huge chart success in the late nineties with tracks including Never Ever, I Know Where It’s At and Pure Shores.
The girls took a break from the band in the early noughties, and in 2002 Nicole and her sister Natalie launched a new band called Appleton.
All Saints then reunited in 2007 and have been together ever since.
They recently hinted they’d like to play Glastonbury next year.
Nicole married her partner Stephen Haines in 2021, and they have a daughter called Skipper together.
It’s easier to speak about after a couple of pints.”
Gene Gallagher
Gene spoke about the possibility of an Oasis reunion in a recent interview with The Times, just a few weeks before the official announcement was made.
He said: “I would love it but it’s so beyond my control.
“I get the feeling my dad wants it too. Let’s hope it happens.
“It’s easier to speak about after a couple of pints.”
When asked what his favourite Oasis song was, he joked: “No one will know it though … it’s off one of those weird ones …
“Wonderwall!”
Gene’s older brother Lennon was born in 1999 to Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit.
Like Gene he’s also followed in his dad’s footsteps by entering the world of music, performing with punk band Automation.
He’s also appeared on catwalks for a number of famous fashion houses.
The pair seem to get on better than their dad gets on with his brother Noel – although Gene once told his brother off for daring to wear a Blur t-shirt.
He told him at the time he was heading “for a slap” from his dad, saying it was the ultimate insult given Liam’s had a lifelong feud with the rival band.
