A RELIEVED woman opened up about the inexpensive shampoo that cured her hair loss.
After making the switch, she noticed she shed “significantly less hair.”
Redditor Spicymango326 shared the haircare tips in a post.
“This shampoo has worked wonders for me,” she said, raving about the $16 Nizoral Anti-Dandruff shampoo.
Though she does not suffer from dandruff, she explained that the shampoo’s primary active ingredient, ketoconazole, which helps with dandruff, has made all the difference.
“Ketoconazole has been proven to significantly help with hair loss,” she said.
“However, any product with more than 1%, you’ll need a prescription for.”
Luckily, her go-to shampoo is available for purchase over the counter.
“I’ve been using it for about six months now, and I’m barely losing any hair in the shower!” she said.
“From the first moment I tried it, I noticed I had lost significantly less hair from my wash!
“It’s my holy grail, and I had to share! Unfortunately, they don’t have a conditioner, but I don’t think that’s a deal breaker.”
Others seconded the recommendation, saying that it also worked for them.
“To share my experience too, I’ve [known] about the benefit of ketoconazole for scalp health and [have] been using Nizoral for years,” said one commenter.
“It helps keep my oily scalp from feeling gunky. It doesn’t help with oiliness, though.
“[It] doesn’t work miracles for hair loss, but I do notice more hair fall when I try using other kinds of shampoos,” she added.
“[It] makes me wonder how much more my hair would be thinning if I hadn’t used Nizoral all these years.

“Not a miracle ingredient, but I definitely notice a difference with more hair loss when I don’t use shampoo with ketoconazole.”
Others agreed that the shampoo allowed their scalp time for growth to come in.
“I started using this due to what I suspect was mild [seborrheic dermatitis], and I noticed after a few months an entirely new layer of hair growing in,” said one.
