The band have pulled the plug on seven upcoming performances in the States as frontman Josh Homme battles with ill health.

The band said in a statement last night: “QOTSA regret to announce the cancellation and/or postponement of all remaining 2024 shows. Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and to receive essential medical care through the year.”
Scheduled gigs in Boston in September, as well as Cincinnati, Chicago and Madison, Wisconsin in October have been postponed until next year.
Meanwhile, shows in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Memphis and Mexico City have been cancelled entirely.
The statement concluded: “Josh and the QOTSA family are so thankful for your support and the time we were able to spend together over the last year. Hope to see you all again in 2025.”
Josh revealed in 2023 that he had been diagnosed with cancer in 2022.
He did not reveal details of the cancer he was fighting but told Revolver that he had had successful surgery to remove it.
He said in an interview with the publication: “Cancer is just the cherry on top of an interesting time period, you know?
” I’m extremely thankful that I’ll get through this, and I’ll look back at this as something that’s f***** up — but will have made me better.
Josh added: “I’m cool with that. There’s a lot of stuff I want to do. And there’s a lot of people I want to do that with.”
The band had been due to return to the road this month following the sudden cancellation of their European gigs.
At the time, they told fans in a statement: “QOTSA regret to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery.”
“Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue.”
The band were due to play various festivals, including ones in Athens, Berlin and Vienna.
The group formed back in 1996 in Seattle, Washington.
They are known for such hits as The Lost Art of Keeping A Secret and No One Knows.
