HUGHIE FURY returned to boxing in April 2024 after almost three years away from the sport.
The 29-year-old marked his boxing revival with a dominant points win over Kostiantyn Dovbyshchenko in Rotherham.
Since then, the heavyweight has beaten Patrick Korte in Cardiff by way of TKO in May.
Hughie‘s last bout before his comeback fight against Dovbyshchenko was against Christian Hammer back in 2021.
The Manchester born boxer was sidelined with long Covid and other health issues before he made his highly anticipated return in April this year.
Now Hughie is well back on his way to fitness with his next clash in the near future.
Hughie Fury will headline a GBM Sports show on Friday, September 27.
It will be Fury’s third fight of the year as he takes on Christian Thun at the Canon Medical Arena in Sheffield.
The bout will be broadcast live on DAZN.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Fury said: “It’s been one thing after another. I had long Covid then I had other problems. It’s just been a nightmare.
“As one problem came, another was arising. It’s been three years of pretty much hell.
“To not be able to do what I used to be able to do was a nightmare. So just to get back now and put that behind me is a weight off my shoulders.
“The most important thing for me now is getting the ring rust off and getting under the lights and doing what I do best.
“I thought I wasn’t going to box again. From a young kid, I’ve put everything in, nothing else, just boxing.
“I thought that was it. My dreams, of putting in all the hard work and dedication and my life was down the drain.
“I can finally see the light and get into the mix.”
