Along the way, a local remarked that Scott, 51, looked like he could be 34-year-old Sam’s dad.
It prompted him to address their age gap and how he felt about hitting the big 5-0.
Scott said: “I am a bit in denial about my age.
“I don’t know how you’re supposed to feel. People say, ‘oh, your knees’… I feel the same.
“I forget there’s an age difference between me and Sam. He’s a bit old for his years, and I’m a bit young. We meet in the middle.”
Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their shock, with one viewer writing: “Scott Mills is NOT 51! Shut up! 40 maybe but 51! No way, refuse to believe that.”
Another added: “I refuse to believe Scott Mills is 51 when he literally looks in his mid 30s.”
“Scott Mills is NOT 51! How dare he be that old,” said a third.
A fourth exclaimed: “As if Scott Mills is 51, wtf. I dunno how old I thought he was but it wasn’t that.”
Elsewhere, Scott has opened up about his time filming the BBC show.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk, he revealed he’d asked producers to pause filming while he faced a rough three days.
He explained: “I started getting these mad headaches – I don’t get headaches – but I was getting really awful ones to the point where one day I said, “I can’t film today, I’m really sorry.”’
“Obviously, there was a medic there and he made sure I ate and that I had some tablets to try and get rid of it but it wouldn’t go for three days.”
The radio star feared he had contracted dengue fever amidst an outbreak that had spread across Brazil.
Fortunately, this proved not to be the case as Sam discovered Scott was suffering from a “massive caffeine withdrawal.”
