DISNEY is launching it’s biggest ever cruise ship – and has revealed the first look at what to expect inside.
The new Disney Adventure will launch next year, and be the seventh ship in it’s fleet.
Launching for the first time from Asia, first images have revealed what to expect from one of the seven zones on the ship.
Called the Imagination Garden, the central park will be overlooked by the internal cabins on the ship.
A first of it’s kind onboard, the park will have shops, bars and restaurants scattered throughout.
Guests will even be able to catch live performances at the open-air performance zone.
The Disney website states: “Start your unforgettable journey in the Disney Imagination Garden, inspired by 100 years of heroic and heartwarming Disney tales.
“Here, you and your loved ones can shop, dine or catch a stunning performance amid an enchanted valley with a charming garden and majestic stage before setting out on your next adventure.”
People on Instagram were left impressed by the images, with one saying: “This looks amazing! I absolutely need to be on this ship 2025 cannot come soon enough.”
Another agreed: “So pretty! I’d stay there all day.”
A third wrote: “Wow! This looks like a completely new Disney Cruise Line experience.”
Other zones yet to be revealed include:
Discovery Reef will be based on nautical movies, such as The Little Mermaid and Finding Nemo with shops and restaurants.
San Fransokyo Street will be inspired by street markets with games and shops while Marvel Landing will have an “all new attraction”.
Toy Story Place will have dining areas and waterplay zones while Wayfinder Bay will be based on Moana with a Pacific island-inspired pool.
The Town Square will have shops and restaurants built into a forest with many of the famous princesses.
More is to be revealed regarding an official launch date and prices.
The Sun’s Deputy Travel Editor Kara Godfrey tried out the Disney Dream – here’s the verdict:
“I can’t say I wasn’t a little jealous of all the activities for kids, which included princess makeovers at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and Millennium Falcon driving at the Disney Oceaneer Club.
“But even as a grown-up, I was still spoilt for choice with adult-only pools, bars and some of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited.
“French restaurant Remy, inspired by the Ratatouille film, is by far the fanciest.
“With only 16 tables, you have to book in advance, but those who get a seat are treated to impeccable service and a divine five-course menu that was so good, I’m still thinking about it.
“Don’t worry if you don’t manage to get a reservation though, as there are three main-themed restaurants which offer a “rotational dining” experience.
“And if jet lag hits and you sleep through dinner and wake up at 3am, the 24-hour room service menu includes burgers, pizza and fried chicken from the snack stalls.
“Over the three days, I cried at a live performance of the award-winning Beauty and the Beast, cheered watching the night-time fireworks show and laughed during a particularly raucous karaoke session which included a memorable rendition of High School Musical’s Breaking Free.
“All this fun and I’d still barely scratched the surface of the endless entertainment on board Disney Dream.”
However it will be the first ship to launch from Asia, setting sail from Singapore with three and four-night trips.
Up to 6,700 guests and 2,500 crew will fit on the ship.
Brits wanting to catch the ship themselves can fly direct to Singapore from London or Manchester from £563 although indirect flights are much cheaper.
Already in operation are Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wish.
Disney Treasure is to launch in December 2024, followed by Disney Adventure in 2025.
And Disney Destiny, based on heroes and villains, will also launch in 2025.
And another four ships are to be added to the fleet by 2031, it was revealed at the huge Disney D23 event.
