THIS is the shocking moment a mum-of-five launches a can at cops after telling them to “kiss my fat a***”.
Lisa Bishop, 38, was part of a “terrifying” mob outside a hotel housing asylum seekers in Bristol while a handful of cops struggled to maintain order.
During the disorder Bishop was heard screaming: “F*** you! F*** you! Kiss my f***ing a***. Kiss my fat a***.”
Bishop was jailed for 26 months at Bristol Crown Court after pleading guilty to violent disorder following the protest on August 3, during which she threw a can and shouted verbal abuse.
The court heard the 38-year-old was in a “prominent” position and shouting verbal abuse in a protest in the city centre before she moved with other protesters to the Mercure hotel which was being used to house asylum seekers.
Only a small cycle police team equipped with police vests and cycle helmets and not riot gear had been deployed to protect the hotel and they were at risk of being overwhelmed by the protesters and counter-protesters, the court was told.
Judge Martin Picton told the defendant: “The group that you were part of made its way to the Mercure hotel intent on targeting the asylum seekers living there, thus causing them considerable fear.
“Again you were at the forefront, gesturing and shouting at the police as you drank more alcohol.
“The group of which you were part was getting increasingly agitated and aggressive and your actions must have contributed to this.
“There was genuine fear among those police officers that they would be overwhelmed and there would be general mayhem.
“The officers immediately in front of the group of which you were part were clearly outnumbered and calling for assistance, there were just two or three officers standing between the two groups.
“The officers showed remarkable bravery trying to keep people safe.”
He added: “Those residing in the hotel who were the target of this anger must have been terrified.”
The court heard that Bishop said she is “disgusted and ashamed at her behaviour”.
The court also heard the cost to the city of the protest was “£385,000 and growing”.
Jamie Easterbrook, 43, from Bristol, was also jailed for 20 months for violent disorder.
The court heard he had been “an active participant” in the disorder, goading and behaving aggressively towards the police.
Zak Baker, 29, of no fixed address, was sentenced to two years and four months in prison by Judge Picton who said he was “very obviously encouraging and enticing the crowd”.
Footage showed him throwing a full drinks can towards cops, kicking out at police dogs and throwing punches and kicks towards officers.
He was also seen behaving aggressively and verbally abusing police officers and members of the public.
The case against Joseph Bradford, 20, of Bishopsworth, Bristol, who has pleaded guilty to violent disorder, was adjourned to September 20 for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
The case of Elly-Jayne Cox, 33, from Bristol, who has pleaded guilty to violent disorder, was adjourned until October 1.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated case, a mum-of-six who hurled bricks at police and encouraged a youth to do the same during a town centre riot has been put behind bars.
Donna Conniff joined in with the large-scale scenes of violence which broke out in Hartlepool, County Durham, on the evening of July 31.
She pleaded guilty to violent disorder at Teesside Crown Court.
Judge Francis Laird KC sentenced her to two years behind bars.
