CARRIE Underwood looks set for unrivaled success as an American Idol judge if she keeps up her fashion and fitness efforts, a stylist has said.
She claimed Katy Perry’s replacement on the hit ABC music show would exceed expectations, given her “more authentic” approach to celebrity style, and even outshine her “lacking” predecessor.
Carrie, 41, shared a clip on Instagram on Monday showing her performing on stage in Cleveland.
The mom of two was dressed in gold hotpants, a black vest top with a sparkling silver top.
“Super sexy in sparkling silver and gold,” commented one fan, while another called her “sexy Carrie.”
Celebrity stylist Lalla Bronshtein suggested Carrie felt confident wearing hotpants because of her “killer legs.”
“Carrie wants to wear these hotpants to show off all her best bits,” she told The U.S. Sun.
“She has these killer legs and is wearing all these styles in her forties.
“Carrie has been revealing those fantastic legs, so the hotpants choice could show how she likes to work out a lot.
“These fashion looks are also about Carrie being an authentic star and showing off her best parts.”
Carrie was announced as a new judge on American Idol on Thursday.
She will join Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie for Season 8, airing in spring 2025 on ABC.
She will replace Katy, 39, who reportedly left the series in May to reboot her music career.
“But, I need to feel my own beat again,” the Roar hitmaker told Jimmy Kimmel in February.
According to Lalla, Carrie’s “unique” style will resonate well with the Idol audience.
“Carrie’s style will work well on a show like American Idol,” she said.
“Carrie will be a successful judge because she is so true to herself.
When stars are not true to themselves and lack unique looks, it can get tricky.

“This will resonate well with the show and the audience.
“She is authentic in dressing, while Katy goes with whatever is on trend.

Katy’s recent foray into the fashion world came in Paris in June.
The Firework singer struggled following a weak response to her pop comeback.

Katy is approaching forty and is all about big fashion, yet Carrie will be refreshing on the show.

“We can see that Katy was trying to handle the music challenges and look resilient and tough,” she said.
“The person inside all these provocative outfits did not measure up.
“These clothes were also Katy’s armor chosen to protect her and represent a tougher persona than her authentic self.”
Bronshtein claimed Katy’s “big fashion” attempts contrasted Carrie’s “refreshing” style.
“Katy is all about bold pieces and is taking them off the catwalk,” she said.
“These are daring and different standout pieces.
“Katy can also do quiet sophistication depending on the event.
“Katy is approaching forty and is all about big fashion, yet Carrie will be refreshing on the show.
“In your forties, you can wear anything if you have the confidence.
“With Carrie, she wears what suits her figure.
“She has this confidence to wear all those hotpants and boots.”
After Carrie’s announcement, she performed on Good Morning America on Friday.
The country star teamed denim hotpants with boots and a multicolored cropped jacket. On set, she flashed her underwear.
According to Bronshtein, Carrie has become “clever” with her appearance.
She pointed out she was adept at combining hotpants with eye-catching tops and boots.
“She wears her cowboy-style boots, tops, and hotpants modernly,” she said.
The hotpants also show off all Carrie has achieved in the gym.

“Carrie looks unique and shows off a sophisticated twist.
“Generally, she loves rhinestones, lace, silk, sparkles, and textured fabrics.
“She is pretty clever with everything, styling it uniquely, not keeping to trends.
“When you wear glitter, sparkles, and fabrics like that, it is all about standing out.
“But without looking at trends and still getting attention.
“It is also about how she combines elements with the hotpants to take the focus off them.”
Interestingly, Carrie launched a fitness app, fit52, in 2020 and continues to show off her workouts on Instagram.
Lalla suggested the star was using style to promote her healthy physique.
Carrie has taken years to find her style.

“They are short hot pants but can be so because she has very worked-out legs.
“She has spent a lot of time in the gym. She wants to show her legs off.”
The Before He Cheats singer and Idol host Ryan Seacrest has been sharing Idol throwbacks on Instagram.
One 2005 photo showed the country star wearing a long, flowing dress when she won the show.
Her blonde hair was crimped, and she wore neutral makeup.
Lalla said, looking at Carrie now; it was as if she was “two different people.”
“Carrie has taken years to find her style,” she said.
“She has found it in her forties and only embraces it all now.
“Since her first appearance on American Idol, we see two different people.
“When she first started on American Idol, Carrie did not have her style; she wore tartan shirts and jeans.
“Her look is so different now, but it is all because Carrie has found herself in her forties.
“She has finally found a style that reflects her real personality.”
The Oklahoma native found fame after winning Idol Season 4 against Bo Bice.
Carrie later secured eight Grammy Awards and 12 Billboard Music Awards, to name a few.
She launched a fashion line in 2015 called CALIA by Carrie and headlined a successful residency in Las Vegas.
The star started bringing out rhinestones and tassels when her residency was extended.
Interestingly, Carrie once claimed that Reese Witherspoon was her fashion icon.
“Reese Witherspoon is just one of my favorites,” she told Us Weekly in 2011.
“She just seems so normal, and I’ve had the pleasure of being in her company, and she’s just so sweet.
“I feel like we kind of have the same body style … we’re both shorter and can wear the same kind of things,” the Cry Pretty singer added.
“Carrie has those legs and adds other items so she does not look older,” added Bronshtein.
“She is not trying to look younger.
“She does not look old in hotpants because she works out and cares for her body.
“In her twenties, Carrie had no unique style and was not experimenting.
“She hit 40 and embraced wearing different clothes.
“Wearing these hot pants is a perfect way for Carrie to show off her legs and figure.”
