A HOMEOWNER shared the awkward encounters she’s had with her neighbours that make her want to sell her house.
The single mum explained that more than one incident has happened to make her want to leave the neighbourhood.
In a post on Mumsnet, the user explained the dilemma she was in after moving into her dream home.
She revealed that she had invested a lot of time and money into the space before moving in eight months ago.
“I bought a beautiful house in a village and have spent a lot of money renovating it and building an extension,” she wrote.
However, the mum-of-one shared the issue she has had ever since moving in.
“The only problem is the neighbour, I think they have a vendetta against me because I’m the newbie in the area,” she said.
“It started with some complaints about the builders’ noise, which I could understand.”
She said she had given her neighbours a head’s up about the noise, which would only be occurring during weekdays from nine to five.
Eventually, her neighbours stopped complaining about the renovation work but that wasn’t the end of the drama.
“Next it was about the parking. I have a drive and my visitors park on the road,” the poster explained.
“Three neighbours have started blocking me in when a visitor’s car is on the unrestricted road.”
She said that she “tried to discuss” the issue but “it ended up escalating into an argument.”
The parking wasn’t the end of the homeowner’s trouble with passive aggressive neighbours.
“Next, some mad neighbour reported me for running a food business from my property without a licence,” she explained.
She revealed that she keeps bees at a different property and donated a few jars of honey to the village fete as raffle prizes.
“The neighbour used this as evidence that I run a food business illegally from my property,” she said.

The user said she felt “so stressed and miserable” in her home and even considered selling it.
However, she added that she had spent so much money on the property that she would make a significant loss selling it now.
Mumsnet users shared their thoughts on the situation in the comments section.
“I think you just need to ride it out. People don’t like change and villages are notorious for it,” wrote one reader.
“It’s hard to be anonymous or keep yourself to yourself. I’d be killing them with kindness for an easy life.”
“What a horrible situation, keep records of things that are happening and if they escalate report to the police,” suggested another person.
“This is just typical villager behaviour unfortunately, petty, nasty, and usually does not last,” said a third commenter.
“I am going to guess they have lived there forever, their world has changed and they are throwing a tantrum.”
