KYE WHYTE was stretchered off after crashing out of the BMX racing semi-final in Paris.
Initial reports were said to be “positive” on the cyclists injury.
The Brit was receiving medical attention after falling from his bike[/caption] Whyte’s fall looked heavy[/caption] He was stretchered away after the crash[/caption] Whyte appeared to lose control on one of the jumps[/caption] He then fell after landing[/caption]Whyte was a huge medal hope for Team GB, having won silver at the Tokyo Olympics.
The cyclist lost control of his bike on the race’s second jump.
He was sent tumbling onto his side in what looked like a painful fall.
Medics immediately rushed to Whyte’s side as they administered first aid.
Whyte was seen being given oxygen as he was stretchered away to help with pain management.
A GB Cycling spokesperson said: “Following his crash in the BMX racing semi-final, Kye Whyte was assessed immediately by the on-site medical team.
“This was followed up by further immediate review by Great Britain Cycling Team Dr Nigel Jones who delivered a positive report, with no significant injuries.
“We wish Kye a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him on his bike very soon.”
The cyclist had been carrying a back injury going into today’s races which he has been struggling with for months.
The crash came in the semi-final’s second run.
Concerned fans were quick to wish Whyte a speedy recovery on X.
One fan tweeted: “Oh no, hopefully he’s ok.”
A second wrote: “That does not look good.”
A third said: “A real shame. Looked a heavy crash. Gutted for Kye, I hope he’s ok.”
While a fourth wrote: “Hope he’s okay ”
