MORE than anything, most Olympic athletes want to win gold — except perhaps Henrik Christiansen, who’s all about chocolate muffins.
The Team Norway swimmer has made the gooey treats from the Olympic Village viral, but the company that makes them says he’s just one of thousands gobbling them up.

He’s continued to post almost exclusively muffin content, including another clip of himself eating one in the Olympic Village dining hall.
“I don’t think you guys realize how good this stuff is,” he wrote on the clip, which has been viewed 13.9 million times.
He’s walked out with four at a time, showed his bedside drawer full of them, and posted jokingly about his aversion to all other parties.
The treat’s clearly been a hit with other Olympians, too.
US volleyball player Erik Shoji, Great Britain track athlete Lina Nielsen, and Singaporean swimmer Quah Jing Wen are among the other competitors posting muffin shots.
Close-ups show chocolate cake with big chocolate chunks and a gooey, melted chocolate center.
But anyone hoping to make off with the recipe is out of luck.
Sodexo Live! is the event company that supplied the muffins to the Olympic Village, and they’re not sharing their secrets.
They did, however, give The U.S. Sun some insider details about them.
A spokesperson said this particular muffin — there is also a blueberry version available to athletes — is 130 grams, or 4.59 ounces.
It’s “presented in a tulip cup and is perfect for chocolate lovers.”
“It is filled and topped with dark chocolate, featuring chunks of dark chocolate and milk chocolate,” they said.
It’s available at the main dining haul as well as six takeaway spots across the Village.
With that much on offer, they said, around 2,000 chocolate muffins are being consumed there every single day.
They expect to serve 100,000 by the time the Olympics and Paralympics are over.
Unfortunately for salivating social media users, these muffins aren’t available to purchase directly to consumers.
But Christiansen has offered an explanation of what makes them so good.
“They’re very rich, and I like that,” he told The New York Times, calling them “incredibly delicious” and “moist.”
“I’m lucky enough to be able to indulge myself a lot more than maybe other people can because I need the calories that much more,” he added.
Sodexo Live! is also supplying other desserts and pastries including fromage blanc, compotes, flan parisien, tarte au citron, financiers, carrot cakes, and macadamia cookies.
