A WOMAN has died after being mauled by a dog at a property.
The 34-year-old, who has not yet been named, was savaged around 11.30pm on Monday at an address in Southend, Essex.
She was blue-lighted to hospital with serious injuries before passing away during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Essex Police said two dogs were seized at the home in Retort Close and have been “assessed by a Dog Liaison Officer as not a banned breed“.
Only one of the beasts is said to have been involved in the attack.
Detective Superintendent Gary Biddle said: “Our deepest sympathies are with the family of the woman involved at this time.
“While our investigation into the circumstances of this tragic incident continues, we would ask that the privacy of the woman’s family is respected.”
THERE are specific regulations in place that prohibit certain dog breeds from being owned or bred in the UK.
So what breeds are banned?
