EASTENDERS killer Reiss Colwell will be left panicking as the police probe into the death of his wife Debbie next week.
Reiss (Jonny Freeman) showed his true colours when he murdered his comatose wife Debbie (Jenny Meier) in shocking scenes.

In scenes airing next week, Reiss will be thrown into turmoil as he continues to wait for the post-mortem results. Meanwhile, an unwitting Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) reassures him that it’s just routine procedure.
However, Debbie’s parents Brenda and Hugh Collins (Michael Bertenshaw and Nichola McAuliffe) have just arrived in town and are be close to uncovering the truth about Reiss. They have already found out that their son-in-law was stealing from their daughter and are putting pressure on the police to look into everything he’s done since arriving in Walford.
Reiss’ problems will only worsen as the week goes on to. Phil (Steve McFadden) comes to collect on Sharon’s (Letitia Dean) investment and makes it clear he will follow through on the threat he made to kill Reiss if he couldn’t produce the money.
He demands a return on his fake investment scheme within 24 hours, but Reiss doesn’t have the funds to pay Phil and must fabricate a lie to Sonia.
With Phil’s threat hanging over his head, will the truth about Reiss finally come out?
Reiss went to see Debbie with a clear plan to kill her.
He told her: “If you were here, properly here, you’d want to help me. Being sentenced to this pitiful, pointless half life.
“It’s not fair, is it? You lingering on in here while me and Sonia lose everything.
“I’ve only got one chance, Debbie, and I know, I just know you’d tell me to take it. If you passed away, I could start again. I’ve lost you. I can’t lose Sonia and the baby as well.”
Looking at her, Reiss lifted her head up, pulled her pillow away, kissed her on the forehead, and then casually smothered her to death while sobbing.
Reiss was unaware that Sonia had visited Debbie before he did the deed.
And before leaving the hospital, Sonia fluffed up Debbie’s pillows, handily leaving her DNA and potential fingerprints all over it.
Could Reiss somehow use this to shift the blame from himself onto his pregnant partner?
The Sun’s Soaps Editor Carl Greenwood fears EastEnders killer twist may be a huge mistake…
SOAPS always work best when there’s a raging killer on the loose – and now EastEnders are testing that theory.
When you think of iconic serial killers in soap – it’s always the ones that enjoy it that go down in history.
Corrie’s Richard Hillman and Pat Phelan, and Emmerdale’s delicious Meena Jutla – murders never seemed to be a chore for them.
Viewers like to watch people enjoying themselves – even if their favourite past time involves going through their neighbours like a knife through butter.
The least favourite killers are guilt-stricken murderers who blunder their way through killings wishing they hadn’t. It’s dull and not enjoyable as a viewer.
I fear creepy drip Reiss Colwell could be the latter. Especially if the soap falls into the trap only killing off inconsequential characters like Debbie.
So should he kill again – and we don’t know that he will – please, please let him enjoy it.
Otherwise we’re in for a bumpy road to the 40th when there’s so much promise.
Star Natalie, who plays Sonia, has announced that she’ll be taking a temporary break from the soap, so is Sonia headed to the slammer?
