SHOPPERS were left surprised after spotting a popular Christmas chocolate on the shelves of a supermarket.
A customer who manages a food reviewing page found Mint Maltesers Reindeers on sale at Asda and shared the news on social media.

The chocolate, which is manufactured by Mars and comes in a single pack, costs 55p at Asda.
A single chocolate reindeer, weighing 29g, has 157kcal.
After the shopper shared the photo on the social media page, another person said they found the chocolate reindeer on sale at their local Asda.
They wrote: “Just ate my last one yesterday they were reduced to just 10p each!! Bought loads.”
Another commented: “A reminder of how close Christmas actually is. This year is flying by!”
And one more said: “I love Christmas.”
However, some shoppers couldn’t believe their eyes and pointed out Christmas is still five months away.
One wrote: “It’s July!!!!!”
Someone added: “Already?!!”
One agreed, saying: “Gets earlier every year I swear.”
We’ve checked Asda’s website and saw that chocolate reindeer treats are also available to order online.
Other supermarkets including Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, and Tesco, are not selling the product yet, as their websites say it is out of stock.
Amazon has the Christmas treat on sale, but the price is higher than Asda.
For example, you can buy a 10-pack box of Maltesers chocolate reindeer at Amazon for £15.99 – meaning each item costs £1.59.
On eBay, these treats are currently out of stock.
Yesterday, we reported that mince pies were found on sale at Morrisons.
The news was shared on the Newfoodsuk page with the shopper saying: “Mince Pies are back at Morrisons!!”
The box, which contains six shortcrust mince pies, costs £1.75.
One excited mince pies lover described the treats as “the best ever”, with another saying the supermarket’s traditional sweet pies are “delicious”.
THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.
You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they’ve been reduced.
If the food is fresh, you’ll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.
Making a list should also save you money, as you’ll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.
Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.
This means ditching “finest” or “luxury” products and instead going for “own” or value” type of lines.
Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they’re misshapen or imperfect.
For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.
If you’re on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.
Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.
But some people were left puzzled and said it’s still too early for mince pies as one said: “You’re having a laugh!
“Keep foods seasonal instead of rushing the seasons ahead.”
Another commented: “Too early. Not acceptable till October or I’ll be sick of them by Christmas. Lol”
Earlier this month, Quality Street chocolate tubs, made to be perfect for sharing at Christmas, were spotted in Tesco’s Newmarket branch stacked on a wooden pallet.
Although it’s far from time to hang the stockings up, one shopper pointed out they’re perfect for gifting at the end of the school year.
Commenting on a Facebook post, the buyer said: “Quality Street are for end of year teacher gifts.”
