A POPULAR Channel 4 series looks set to return for a third series amid continued cutbacks at the network.
The broadcaster is reportedly gearing up for a brand new series of Emergency, according to TVZone.
The inspiring show follows the lives of the crew at the London Major Trauma System and the impactful work they do.
Cameras follow as real-life emergencies happen in real-time in one of the fastest-moving first responder jobs in the country.
The unique trauma system was initially created in response to the tragic London bombings of 2005.
It is created in order to provide more swift action to large incidents along with the best possible care.
The system has improved the chances of survival for trauma victims by a huge 50%.
Channel 4 has so far followed the lives of the staff over two series with the programme set to do it once again.
The first two series contained four episodes each with Channel 4 likely having ordered the same run for the third go-around.
When the show was first revealed, Rita Daniels of Channel 4 said: “This is a hugely ambitious series, but with their track record I know The Garden will deliver a fantastic, intense and emotional series.
“I can’t wait to follow this incredible team of NHS emergency workers as they work tirelessly to keep the residents of London and the surrounding counties safe.”
It comes just one day after the fate of Channel 4’s biggest daytime show was revealed.
The broadcaster confirmed that A Place in the Sun’s popular What Happened Next? spin-off had been handed a second series.
The show sees presenters such as Jasmine Harman and Laura Hamilton revisit the people they have helped to relocate over the years.
Each TV personality will catch up with the house hunters that they assisted in their quest to move abroad.
Daytime commissioner Jo Street explained: “A Place in the Sun is such a beloved show, and we know the audience really cares what happens to the house-hunters once the cameras leave.
“What a treat to catch up and see what happened when that offer was finally accepted.”
This is a different move from the broadcaster in recent times, as it’s been forced to roll out huge cutbacks in programming.
