Then in October that year Sophie admitted she punched Sam in the face and said she ‘deeply regrets it’.
Last night Sam shared a linked to his Snapchat on his Instagram story with the caption: “Watch full story on how I got assaulted on TV by an ex cast member of mine.”
The reality star, who dated Chloe while on the show, confessed that he has had loads of messages about the row that happened while they were filming in Benidorm.
On his Snapchat, he explained that their trip went “rapidly down hill” and one taxi ride on the way home was “a little frosty”.
Sam said: “We’re just normal in the taxi, and then Sophie, is the person were on about in this instance, a lot of people, I’ve had a lot of messages, asking me to tell the story…”
He continued: “Let me tell you from my perspective, back to the house, I can’t really remember, there was nothing untoward going, it was really never that deep, you’re just filming a TV show, something got said, I don’t know what it was that got said…
“I think there was like a snide comment back as such, from Z cast member, shall we say, and I said back, I said something along the lines of ‘jealous’ or whatever…”
Sam then claimed that there are “tiers” of people who either “do well with money or where they are up in TV” and people who are “a bit below”.
He claimed: “Said person was, and still is, a bit below and obviously was at the time and that is an unsaid and unwritten thing where everybody knows it.
“For example, if I’m being honest, Chloe was number one when we were filming Geordie Shore and probably still is, and then the tiers went down.”
Sam continued: “I said ‘you’re a bit jealous are you?’ or something like that and that obviously really triggered something inside said person’s body because you know when you get told something and it really pushes your buttons.”
He then explained that she put her arm around him and he received a “full on punch”.
Sam then recalled what happened next, explaining: “I remember laughing as it happened because it was a bit of a shock, then 30 seconds after when it sunk in that someone just did that, regardless of if it’s a woman or not, you cannot really do that so to the producers I was like you cant really allow that to happen and they calmed me down as such.
“I remember being sat in a room with the person and they said do you want to take it further?
“I was like no it’s ok, then I remember being fuming when I went to bed, cheeky bastard cant believe that’s happened and then I remember waking up and it changes your perception.
“Not the person, but perception on like filming.
“Who you’re around type of thing, being around scruffy people, so I as a bit like, my perception changed and I was like I cannot really continue to film the show with people like that.
“I can’t associate, in real life you wouldn’t hang around with this people.”
The Sun contacted Paramount for comment.
During a chat with The Sun after hit happened, Sophie admitted she “regretted” her actions.
Sophie told us: “I got so irate and I snapped and obviously I regret it.
“I’m very protective over Chloe though she’s like my little sister.
“I was angry because he was upsetting her and I thought she deserved better.
“He said I was just jealous and I totally lost it.
“I got punished because you can’t show violence.”
Sam shot to fame on the third series of Love Island in 2017.
A year later he joined Geordie Shore.
Sam was a fan favourite on the programme, starring on it between series 16 to 20.
His on/off relationship with Chloe was a huge story line at the time.
Meanwhile Sophie has been on the show since the first ever series.
