NETFLIX fans have been left in floods of tears after watching a deeply moving true crime documentary.
The series, titled Murdered or Missing, follows a series of cases of missing people to determine just what might have happened to them.
Netflix fans have been left crying over a true crime documentary about Lee Boxall[/caption] The teen went missing in 1988[/caption]Originally having aired on Channel 5 in 2019, the show has now become an unexpected success on Netflix and has found itself creeping its way up the streaming charts.
One of the episodes of the programme surrounds the case of the disappearance of Lee Boxall.
Lee was just 15 years old when he vanished in 1988 with the youngsters never having been seen or heard from again.
On the day he went missing, he had been in the town of Sutton with a friend to grab food and do some window shopping.
Having parted ways at 1pm, Lee had told his pal he was considering going to watch a football match between Charlton Athletic and Milwall.
He never appeared at either of the clubs stadiums despite extensive CCTV research and the last known sighting of him was at 2:20pm by a bystander who saw him outside a Tesco shop on Sutton High Street.
It meant he was unlikely to have made it to the football ground for the 3pm kick-off.
There have since been links which could connect Lee’s disappearance to paedophiles following extensive police investigations after they were found to be operating at a potential location Lee was during the time of his disappearance.
In 2013 police had discovered he would spend time in a church outbuilding, known as the Shed, a meeting place for teenagers.
A Crimewatch appeal for information revealed there had been allegations surrounding the youth club and sexual abuse.
Search teams carried out a forensic archaeological dig of graves surrounding St Dunstan’s Church last year.
Police have said that they are convinced that the answers to Lee’s disappearance “are in that graveyard”.
Three men aged 78, 52, and 41 were quizzed in 2014 on suspicion of Lee’s murder and conspiracy to pervert justice and indecency with children.
A woman, 42, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert justice and indecency with children.
All were released without charge.
The case has now been examined in detail once again on the documentary and fans have been left taken aback by the harrowing realities of missing person cases.
His dad has campaigned endlessly to help find out what happened to him[/caption]Commenting online, one Netflix watcher said: “Watched first episode of #MissingOrMurdered and I’m blubbing like a baby.”
Another made a comment on Lee’s father Peter who has extensively campaigned for his son to be found alongside other missing people throughout Britian.
He was even at the forefront of the Missing People Choir who reached the final of Britian’s Got Talent in 2017.
The viewer said of the documentary: “I’m watching Missing or Murdered on Netflix and came across the case of Lee Boxell, turns out his dad is a member of the Voices For Missing Choir who performed Missing You with The Vamps in London that one time, and now I’m absolutely sobbing my heart out!!”
His parents have spoken about his case publicly many times[/caption]
