Speaking to The U.S. Sun, she shared effective anti-aging tips.
Dr. Colville revealed that a habit she saw growing up has become a staple in her skincare routine.
She is now “never” without her ice globes as they instantly transform the feel of her skin.
“These are small metal globes that you keep in the refrigerator and can apply to your skin any time to calm, reduce redness and puffiness,” she said.
“My Granny swore that washing her face with ice-cold water kept her young.
“I’m not sure the research backs it up, however, I always feel better once I’ve iced my face.”
According to Healthline, washing the face with cold water helps to depuff the face and reduce the appearance of pores.
The skin may also have a healthier glow as it increases blood flow to the area.
However, cold water isn’t as effective as warm water for cleaning the skin.
Dr. Colville said 80% of skin aging is avoidable and SPF is your “best friend” when it comes to preventing damage caused by UV exposure.
“I always quote to my patients, ‘Nothing looks better in your 60s than SPF in your 50s,’” she said.
She revealed inflammation and environmental damage also contribute to skin aging.
“A great start to protect your skin from environmental damage is by using a high-purity hypochlorous solution such as Clinisoothe+ Skin Purifier spray,” she said.
“Other vital ingredients to include are a high-quality vitamin C to provide anti-oxidant protection and a retinoid to increase the skin turnover cycle.”
Dr. Colville said active ingredients should be incorporated into skincare routines when collagen levels start to decline in our late 20s.
It’s never too early to start wearing a broad-spectrum SPF daily.

She said retinoids should be prescribed by a skin specialist and revealed her favorite medical-grade products are in the Skinbetter Science range.
“Clinisoothe+ is a brilliant skin cleansing product too,” she said.
“This has a variety of uses apart from its anti-aging benefits so you can use this on anyone who needs skin calming, cleansing, and to aid skin recovery.”
Dr. Colville said skincare products should be applied from the thinnest consistency to the thickest for best results.
“So after cleansing, exfoliating, and using your hypochlorous solution, you would apply your serums, and then finish with a moisturizer if you need it,” she said.
