USAIN BOLT’S antics on the track are almost as famous as his lightening fast speed.
And a former rival has opened up about one of the Jamaican superstar’s “bulls***” tactics from back in the day.
Former team USA sprinter Wallace Spearmon revealed that during one race, Bolt was goading him while hot on his heels.
Speaking on the Ready Set Go podcast, Spearmon recalled a 4×100 race in Zurich in which Bolt was up to his usual tricks.
He said: “I remember in Zurich we were in the 4x100m. I get the stick first, I’m on the anchor leg.
“He [my team-mate] hands me the stick three to six metres up. I don’t know what it really was, I’m exaggerating on the low end, and Bolt catches me.
“But literally, in the whole 100m, I can hear him. ‘Alright Wallace, I’m coming. Get your knees up. Get your knees up.’
“‘Look good. Ok I’m coming alright. Look up, look left, here I am all right. Dip at the line. Ahhh. Alright great job’.”
Spearmon was clearly affected by the cheeky digs from his competitor, admitting he confronted Bolt after the race.
He added: “We crossed the line and you see me walk up to him and I got real close.

“And I was like ‘Don’t you ever do that bull**** again bro’. I was like ‘what’s wrong with you man?’”
“So I watch that [him goading his competitors] and I see what Bolt’s about and I’m like ahh, okay, okay, okay. Shout out to this man.
“And then when he does it to you you like ‘hold on wait a minute’.”
Although frustrating, Bolt’s antics certainly worked with the world’s fastest man earning eight Olympic gold medals and holding the world record for the Men’s 100m, 200m, and 4×100m relay.
Spearmon on the other hand retired as a World Championship gold medallist in the 4x100m relay and the 13th fastest 200m runner in history.
